Yet Another question about Free Style Dining

We are looking to book the Jewel in May. We have cruised Carnival & Princess and have always had late traditional dining. We would be ok with NCL's free style dining if we knew we could have the same wait staff each night. If you find a wait staff that you really like, can you request them each night or perhaps just make a standing reservation for their section?

Thanks in advance!

We just sailed on the POA last september, and we had the same Wait Staff each night.

We just asked for one of her tables. And we got it every night, except the 1 night she was off. However, she made sure the waiter who covered her, knew we were coming and told her what we wanted.. To our surprise. Talk to the wait Staff, they will help you out...

We have done this more then once...

Susan, you can. all you have to do is advise the head waiter and let them know what time you will be dining each night.

You can request the same wait staff, but their stations rotate so you will not necessarily be sitting in the same section of the dining room every night if that happens to be important to you. You may also have to wait for a table if none in their station are open when you arrive for dinner.

In addition to rotating stations, the wait staff is sometimes rotated to a different dining room as staffing needs dictate.

On our cruise on the Dawn, we found a waiter that we really liked. One night however, he was the "relief waiter" (fills in for various waiters during the evening as they take breaks) and had no regular tables of his own. But he did stop by and talk to us while we were there.

Personally, I like the variety of having different waiters. It is fun to talk to them and find out about them and their countries. (and if you end up with a bad waiter one night, you won't be stuck with them the entire week.)

Also, you won't be able to try out the variety of specialty restaurants if you keep the same waiter.

I can relate if you find a good one that you want to keep them but on freestyle cruising remember the waiters are also on freestyle. They can wait on you when they want to or where they want to and with whom they want to wait on. One night we had 6 waiters and it took over 2 hours but we didn't go away hungry.
