Gambling on Ship!

I don't plan on doing a lot of gambling. I've heard the odds are less on casinos on ships, but I'd like to play some low change slots, like maybe nickels and quarters. And of course limit the amount I will gamble. Do the slots take real nickels and quarters? Or is it all on the "card." My plan is to take a roll or two of nickels and quarters--use them, and then leave.

:)

Don't take rolls of coin....all machines will take bills, and most will cash out with tickets....bring a couple $10 bills and put in the machine...you will get $10 worth of "credits"--bet what you want, then cash out that ticket. You can put the ticket into another machine and use a few credits or cash it out entirely.

How the slots run depends on the age of the ship. The older ships generally have old slots that take change, but the newer ships have some cashless machines where you can play off your card. Most all machines will take paper money, which is easier than putting in coins.

I liked the old days when people put in coins and pulled the arm. It was a lot more fun. :D Half the time when I play the new slots, I don't even know what's going on, and then all the money is gone.

I know on the Carnival Ecstasy you can charge to your sign-and-sail card with no fee or interest imposed by Carnival. That can be good (no fee) or bad (too easy to spend more money).

Also, no free drinks on ships casinos, except for the occasional drink offering from the casino host(ess) for frequent visitors.
