Johnthed0g Posted February 9, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2010 You may get more response if you ask specific questions, what do you want to know... destinations or ship questions?
richsea Posted February 9, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 9, 2010 I would suggest for you to be ready to be pampered & have a relaxing week. Since this is your first cruise, just try to relax. Be sure to read the daily paper that is delivered to your room. It will list the things that are going on about the ship for that day. This way you can plan your day according to what appeals to you. Celebrity does not make announcements throughout the ship reminding everyone of whatever activities are upcoming. Try to savor the feeling of being at sea on a beautiful ship. As far as ports are concerned, check out the "Port of Call" boards here on CC for ideas for each port. Most important, don't try to cram too much in all at once, this way you can save stuff to do on your next cruise!!:D Welcome to Cruise Critic!!! DHADEN Posted February 9, 2010 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2010 any suggestions specific to eastern caribbean cruise on celebrity solstice (March 14th) for essentially first time cruisers? Thanks. The best I can give you is to join in on your "Rollcall Group". This is a site where all others that are on your same cruise get to know each other and exchange information. Here's the link: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=919811 Hope This Helps.
jd1966 Posted February 10, 2010 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2010 Enjoy yourself and do what you want to do but don't try to do everything. Judge the cruise by how YOU enjoy it and don't go on board with all sort of preconceived notions. A cruise is what YOU make it. You've picked a fantastic ship!!!!!!! dkjretired Posted February 10, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2010 any suggestions specific to eastern caribbean cruise on celebrity solstice (March 14th) for essentially first time cruisers? Thanks. Since you are coming from Ohio in mid March, make every attempt to come a day earlier. Not only does it save problems with late flights, weather, etc but it makes for a much more relaxed first day...Also, in Fort Lauderdale, take a taxi to the pier, don't do the transfers as a taxi is cheaper, quicker and you go when you want... RodPat Posted February 10, 2010 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2010 any suggestions specific to eastern caribbean cruise on celebrity solstice (March 14th) for essentially first time cruisers? Thanks. we are on Solstice March 14th also. This is our second time on Solstice. Definitely come over to the roll call thread. Solstice is a beautiful ship. Make sure make reservations to one of the specialty restaurants. We tried the last time to have a drink at all the bars aboard but found a week was not long enough. The ports are all wonderful and I am sure you will have a great time. Pat
