Price reduction

I usually book cruises well in advance.

Thelast one was on X. We were given substantial reductions in fares , approx 20% , if the price for the same catageory stateroom decreased from the time we made reservations to debarkation

Does HAL also have this policy or are you "stuck" to the price you originally booked at?:confused:

Booked directly with both HAL & X

HAL will reduce your fare PRIOR to final payment if YOU find

a lower fare (in their website, etc.) and bring it to their attention.

After final payment HAL barely knows you exist.

Be careful -- sometimes those lower prices that you see on HAL's web site are 3 day sales and the prices you see are for new bookings only.

 

You have to call HAL to check on this.

When I booked the person at HAL said they honor price drops up until sailing. I thought it was just until final payment--anyone know for sure?

 

I feel like CC folks will really know better than the multiple answers you get when you call directly to the cruise line! :rolleyes:

They get around this promise by what the previous poster said. Specials are for "new bookings only".
