ILgirl Posted March 4, 2010 #26 Share Posted March 4, 2010 One of the pool bars opens at 7:00AM so if you are Horizon Court bound you could always get your screwdriver on the way in to enjoy with breakfast.
Drews_Cruise Posted March 4, 2010 #27 Share Posted March 4, 2010 I love a good Bloody Ceasar but have no idea what a Mimosa is. Sorry for my ignorance but what is it?
Iamcruzin Posted March 4, 2010 #28 Share Posted March 4, 2010 Thinking.... hmmm. If you get a drink there's a 15% gratuity added. But, isn't this given to the bar staff and bar waiters?? If you ask a waiter in the buffet to get you a drink, should you give him an additional tip since he won't receive anything from the 15% ?? Or will he ?? Same thing might apply any time of day in the dining rooms ?? You would if you got room service, right ? I buy the soda card and anytime a waiter in the buffet offers to get me a drink I always tip him or her a dollar or two.

captainron Posted March 5, 2010 #36 Share Posted March 5, 2010 Think you could be wrong.. but you've been around longer than me, so, I could be wrong. My understanding is the auto-tips are shared by a designated number of employees and the gratuity on the drinks are shared by the bartender and bar waiters whereas.. they do not share in the auto-tips. Should start a thread on this to see what really experienced cruisers know. Pleez!!! Not another thread on tipping. Ciao for now!!!
fairstars Posted March 6, 2010 #37 Share Posted March 6, 2010 Thanks! Looking forward to our breakfasts there. You will absolutely love it, just ask for anything you want, even if it is not on the menu. The services is fantastic! awaldo Posted March 6, 2010 Author #38 Share Posted March 6, 2010 I'll just be happy with some lox and a screwdriver. Or a greyhound.
Off2China Posted March 6, 2010 #39 Share Posted March 6, 2010 I'll just be happy with some lox and a screwdriver. Or a greyhound. Okay, I'll bite. What's a greyhound (if it's not a dog)?
UtterCaro Posted March 6, 2010 #40 Share Posted March 6, 2010 Okay, I'll bite. What's a greyhound (if it's not a dog)? Vodka and grapefruit juice. (A Salty Dog without the salted rim. A Seabreeze without the cranberry juice.) Caro <--- married to a former bartender
bhopal21 Posted March 6, 2010 #41 Share Posted March 6, 2010 Actually a Salty Dog is made with gin; but the younger generation prefers vodka. Similar to what happened with the revered martini. Mike:)

awaldo Posted March 6, 2010 Author #43 Share Posted March 6, 2010 Greyhound is as previously stated, grapefruit with vodka. Not as sweet as a screwdriver, and never got a taste for a bloody mary. It's a good breakfast libation. Goes well with lox and beans.
