Ladies-What type purse do you use in ports?

I am wondering what others use for a purse on excurstions or in ports. I have one I got at Shapiros that is slim and supposed to theft proof, i.e. can't be cut open, security pocket, etc., that I have used, however, it doesn't hold much so I end up taking a backpack for camera, towels, etc. and then put this inside of it for my money, ship ID. I worry that this is not safe though.

Anyone have better ideas for what to use?

I have never carried a purse to port. I usually take a back pack. I keep a small amount of cash, one credit card and my S&S card on my person. Usually in a pocket.

You can purchase a small pouch that hangs around your neck that is waterproof and it is big enough to hold everything listed above.

Just stay alert and in a group. Most ports are safe, they really need your business. JMHO

I usually carry a small purse that can hold my camera, passport, s&s card and small things like chap stick. It also holds 1 or 2 tote style bags that can be folded up for any shopping I may do while I am in port. Since I never leave the "beaten" track I have never felt unsafe and unsure with my purse.

I see nothing wrong with the backpack, but if you are indeed worried about security, hence your Shapiros, I would not put it inside the backpack, but rather carry it individually. Things like passport and s&s, I would keep in a purse that is close to my body or a pocket.

I bought a travel purse that hangs around your neck under your shirt. I use it for my credit card, passport and extra cash if I plan to make a large purchase. I use a small pack that belts around your waist for cash, phone and my camera. I wear my sign and sail card on a necklace thing that the casino will give you if you ask or I put it in the travel purse. I also put that under my shirt. I leave extra cash and any other credit cards in the safe in the cabin.

I take a backpack for water, umbrella, camera, sunblock, towels....

I have one of those waterproof(personal safe) things around my neck with S&S card, ID and cash. If not going to a beach/water type place I may just use my Vera Bradley backpack style purse.

I have a cross-the-body purse that is about 8x5 inches. I can fit our passports, camera, cards, cash, change, bathing suit bottoms (usually just wear the top all day) and extra undies with room to spare. I wear it so it sits in the front of my body.

DH wears the backpack that carrys our water, towels, purchases, his extra clothse etc.

No purse for me. I have hiking pants from LLBeans for port, the kind with zipped pockets (and zip off legs). I carry a credit card, cruise card, a little cash, tissues, and maybe hand cream in a zipped pocket. Makes me bulge out where I don't like it, but hey, I'll never see these people again! Camera goes around my neck. Voilà!

We buy water when we need it, we may carry a few printout pages for directions, that is it. I find port much nicer this way. If we bring back souvenirs we may buy a tote bag or use a plastic shopping bag. No worries!

I'm planning on using a backpack. I think it'll be a lot easier for me since I am horrible with putting things down and walkin away, with the backpack I can just wear it and not have to worry about forgetting it some where.

For beach things I carry a beach tote though may change that to a backpack this year it gets heavy on the shoulder. S&S, passport etc are in my coach wristlet on my wrist where it stays all the time when I am out at home or on a cruise. I considered one of the coach sling packs this year but not sure if I need it, everything important fits in the wristlet. Dh carries his stuff in his wallet in his front pocket except his passport and I carry it.

For travel I have a leather cross over bag.. it is the most perfect purse to use.. it feels like I am not burdened in anyway.. I think the key is cross over body type. I use it for all type of travel.

I use one of these, but made of nylon, and much lighter, also I have what they call a wristlet- it has a strap that unclips on one side and loop it through the belt loop in my shorts and tuck it into my shorts pocket...

Always have penty of room...I do not carry much money, I find it keeps me from overspending...
