the cabin looks OK at least you are not under the Medusa Lounge where they'll do all the game shows.

The ship should be fine. I know she's old, but at least she was built as a proper cruise ship and not a rebuild from a ferry or built on a container ship hull like some of the others.

They mean "New to Thomson". She was actually built in 1986.

think most of the refurb i Oct will be to tart her up to look like the other Thomson's ships. Change deck and lounge names etc.

As she is the takeover was so quick they have had to keep all the names of decks etc. the same as Costa for time being.

Hi Jim,

I bet the bathrooms look like the ones on the Escape and the Celebration.

The RCI ship we were on built in 1997 had nearly identical bathrooms to them.

 

I suppose we all have different expectations depending on what you've cruised on before.

Only cruised on OV2 Berwyn but reading Thomsons description of the Dream, what they are selling it on and the cost I am looking for much better.If the toilets look tired and cabins are in need of a refub thats the minimal amount of work that should have been carried out before its first sailing under Thomson

 

Reading reports/reviews it appears all Thomsons ships require a refub

the forecast for today is poor all the way to Livorno and even in Livorno tomorrow I would say it is fair at best based on present satellite imagery.More cloudy than rainy it would appear.

 

As for the ship - I hope the reports come back more favourably than they seem to have started !

Hi Gareth,

the 10 day forecast looks better on the Weather Channel website.

As long as beds comfortable,the A.I. is flowing and we get the Thomson standard of service and entertainment we should be OK.

I think we all know that Thomson ships are not the newest or swishest, but the staff are lovely and the entertainment unbeatable. As long as the cabins are clean who cares! You don't spend long in them hopefully. So I am determined to enjoy it. Just hope the weather is better, it's gorgeous here in Oxford, sitting in the garden - very warm :)

we have been on I/S and OV2 if dream is up to their standard i will be happy staff and enterainment both great on these ships, on countdown for us now no tickets as yet though.:D:D:D

It was on BBC 1 o'clock news. Might be on again on the main 6 o'clock news.

 

BUT if you watch Sky channel 987 at 6.30 p.m. that is BBC 1 South

West and it should be on Spotlight the local news programme.

 

We only do crazy golf, much more fun :D

I agree Jim, both Thomson's and Costa could have worked together and let Thomson's tart up the inside while they were fixing the rest.

They had approx a month to sort it.

You will be ok on Hoilday.. I know you will, alcoholic haze is brilliant. It's what you make it at the end of the day, especially when you meet up with like minded fellow cruisers, the cabins are only for sleeping in at our age :o if your like me .. up at the crack of dawn cuppa in hand and standing up on deck watching ..coming into port ( dont them little buggers work hard docking) :D then breakfast ready for the hectic day ahead ..sight seeing then shopping then sunbathing...when she must be obeyed shuts her eyes ..I sneak off to the sailaway bar for a few pints of Strongbow..I have the uncany knack of just getting back when she wakes up off the sunbed........put some more oil on please as though I had never been away :D

Then in the Evening, meal / show / beer/cider/Scotch a quick gamble and that concludes day 1 :rolleyes:

 

 

A holiday is what you make it.. no more negativity please. :p
