CRUISIN LINDA Posted April 22, 2010 Author #9 Share Posted April 22, 2010 Just doing your job while you were off duty Berwyn!!:) Got all sorts of windows open on here - sad or what!!! Celebrity Eclipse just picking up lots of Thomson and Thomas Cook passengers in Bilbao. Pity Government couldn't have done the same with all those warships "standing by" seeing as they seem to be the cause of all this trouble. Hope DW is Ok and over her panic attacks. Sitting here with wet hair! Just out of the shower - must go - have a good kip :) Linda

Don't worry, yesterday I had 3 browsers open with a total of about 9 tabs open. DW is better this morning thanks. Her head's better too. It helped having good news about son after his examination. :DLooks like Infammatory Bowel Disease. We were worrying in case it was big C  That's trouble being in the job, we know too much. Went flat out but woke up bright as a button at 11 am :( You'd swear I'd slept 8 hours. ) So I've got up for a cuppa' and I'll try again in a bit. CRUISIN LINDA Posted April 22, 2010 Author #11 Share Posted April 22, 2010 Hi Berwyn, Just going to say you don't sleep for long! Glad to hear about your son. I get IBS - especially when stressed, like this week:( I worked in clerical jobs in the NHS for years, so know some medical things, but a little knowledge is a dangerous thing, so they say. So I am the complete hypochondriac:eek: Gatwick flights landed just after 11am. Pity about the weather, perhaps they would have been better to stay here - arghhhhh:( Linda ps how to you get the moving smillie things?

Hi Linda, Was like that as a baby, mam used to push me up and down the prom in the pram at all hours as I wouldn't sleep. I hope you've dried your hair, don't want a chill for the cruise :D: No they don't wan't to stay here, it's lovely and sunny but only 10C. Even if it poured all week I'd rather be out there cruising than here anyday. I can't take the credit for the smileys. Rebel Rouser posted the link. perthorchid Posted April 23, 2010 #14 Share Posted April 23, 2010 hi you lot, i made it! sitting in the internet cafe now . \i am overwhelmed that you all cared enough to track my flight. \the gatwick to palma flight was delayed and we had a long wait at portside check in but hopefully they will have smoothed that out by your time of arrival. The weather is awful, rained all day yesterday and today, and we are to have a lifeboat drill at 10 outside on deck 9!!!! The ship needs a makeover. Very hot and the bathrooms a bit tired. However thomson lives up to reputation with staff and entertainment. Had cocktail of the day in the ocean bar with live band, then dinner in orian restaurant with 4 others, 1 couple and 2 ladies , so it was ok being on my own so far. Then to the show, abba tribute and then up to lido deck (in the rain) to meet carol and laura. we had a chat then i went to the casino and gave my donation of £20 in the slots. Bed. Today a light breakfast and this , then LB drill then a port talk and then i have a 'solo travellers' lunch in the main dining room. So far, so good . speak soon. xxxx
davecttr Posted April 23, 2010 #15 Share Posted April 23, 2010 Ship needs a makeover eh!. Not surprising really as costa would have done the minimum once they knew the ship was leaving the fleet. Thomsons had better get started with the paintbrush etc NOW. I don't want to suffer a substandard product in July just so Thomsons can use me to find out what is needed in the autumn refit. CRUISIN LINDA Posted April 23, 2010 Author #19 Share Posted April 23, 2010 What trouble have the warships caused? As far as the warships picking up passengers, where would the passengers stay? on the open deck? Hi Goose30 Sorry, didn't mean the warships caused any trouble, I meant the Government being over cautious as usual and cancelling all those flights:o I probably didn't mean warships either:eek: just naval vessels (like the one that picked up the troops from Afghanistan and a few civilians) On the news they said they were "standing by" to help Linda
CRUISIN LINDA Posted April 23, 2010 Author #20 Share Posted April 23, 2010 Hi Isabel, glad you are enjoying the cruise, hope you don't get too wet on lifeboat drill :p and that the weather improves :):) Linda

Berlitz says when carnival bought her in 2002 and put her in the Costa fleet in 2002 she had a refit mainly of the soft furnishings and decor was made brighter costing £5million. Cymro1953 Posted April 23, 2010 #24 Share Posted April 23, 2010 also sold to me as brand new thomspon ship 5star so why say that when it need refrub Hi Hoopy, They mean "New to Thomson". She was actually built in 1986. think most of the refurb i Oct will be to tart her up to look like the other Thomson's ships. Change deck and lounge names etc. As she is the takeover was so quick they have had to keep all the names of decks etc. the same as Costa for time being.
