Small Artsy Gothic Quarter Hotels?

Trying to choose between the 5Rooms and the H10 Raco del Pi. Has anyone stayed, seen, heard about either and can give info? Proximity to Las Ramblas & Picasso Museum? Quiet? We will have a 5 year old with us and her parents are both artists (would like to be near art museums and/or stay in an "artsy" hotel). Suggestions for either of these intimate hotel/B & Bs welcomed--or recommendations for another of equal type. :o

I stayed at the Raco del Pi and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's definitely a funky, artsy hotel (newly renovated old building) on a quiet(er) small street located about midway between Las Ramblas and the Gothic Cathedral. The Picasso Museum is a little farther but certainly walkable.

 

The staff at the hotel were friendly. The rooms are smallish (at least mine was -- I had a single) without much of a view. Don't spring for the expensive hotel breakfast (unless it is included with your rate): there are several great places to get coffee and pastries nearby (one almost across the street). There is also a VERY good tapas restaurant nearby at Placa del Pi.

 

Hope this helps. I'd definitely stay there again.
