MommasLove Posted May 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 10, 2010 I'm a first time cruiser, leaving in 2 weeks on the Fantasy ship. Besides the normal things like clothes, camera, highlighter, hair supplies, is there something that you forgot to bring that you wish you would have? Or does anyone have any good tips on things to bring? Thanks for any help :)

Hairspray, toothbrushes, hair ties, shaving cream, contact lense solution...etc. ;)

Tooth cement if you have any caps or filings that are problematic. If you use a night guard, make sure it makes it's way into the carry-on. cls624 Posted May 10, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2010 If you have a lanyard, bring it! You can have a hole punched in your Sign and Sail card, and hang it on the lanyard. They can punch the hole in the Casino. Also a larger plastic cup with a cover, for Lemonade, Iced Tea, or whatever you might like to drink. The cups they have are on the small side. A sweater, hoodie, or sweatshirt. The ship is pretty cold.

Frank12 Posted May 10, 2010 #13 Share Posted May 10, 2010 I once forgot my large coffee mug. Those little cups on the Lido are just not big enough!
corkyanige Posted May 10, 2010 #14 Share Posted May 10, 2010 A wrist watch!! I don't use one anymore (so used of telling time with my cellphone)... so the watch has to go on my "remember to pack list" or it will be forgotten!!
laumicmah Posted May 10, 2010 #15 Share Posted May 10, 2010 A hairdryer. I didn't take one on my cruise in March. I assumed there would be one in the cabin...there wasn't. Apparently, not all ships have them in the cabins, but you can ask your steward for one (which I did not know and went with air dried frizzy hair the entire cruise:eek:). Also, a small cooler, especially if you order beer for your cabin from Bon Voyage. The ice buckets are crazy tiny. We filled the sink with ice water and put our beer in there, but then couldn't use the sink. Have fun!!!!
hoop4321 Posted May 10, 2010 #16 Share Posted May 10, 2010 cokes! We ate a lot of room service for lunch due to late excursions, and we would have loved to have a 12 pack of cokes for 3 bucks instead of the 2 dollars a can.

Mary Ellen1 Posted May 10, 2010 #19 Share Posted May 10, 2010 Make a little first aid kit, even if it's just a zip-lock bag. You won't be able to run out to your favorite store & pick up your favorite cold medicine, antacid, etc... The ship sells a few things, but they're expensive & of limted selection. Here's what's in mine: Acid reducer & Antacids Aloe Antibiotic ointment Antihistamine / Sudafed Anti-itch cream Band-Aids Cortisone cream Dramamine Ginger Ibuprofen Immodium Lysine Zinc
maldenmusic Posted May 10, 2010 #20 Share Posted May 10, 2010 A hat or visor to keep the sun out of your eyes and insect spray if you are taking any excursions where insects might be a problem. I love the Fantasy and I hope you do, too :D

Warm Breezes Posted May 11, 2010 #25 Share Posted May 11, 2010 DH left his prescription sunglasses in our vehicle at the airport in Detroit. We had to make a quick trip to a drug store to find him some clip ons to go over his glasses. He hated them. But since he can't wear contacts he was SOL. I can guarantee he won't forget them again.:D
