MrsZee Posted May 12, 2010 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Check out the slideshow on John Heald's blog. For those of us who have sailed the Holiday, I am absolutely AMAZED by how awesome she looks. I mean, WOW! http://johnhealdsblog.com/2010/05/12/photos-of-your-holiday/ http://www.slide.com/r/XDKlGsFbxz_sqxv0mcz6cmQGq2_MuldI?previous_view=lt_embedded_url
Bandman Posted May 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2010 Wow! Amazing. Of course when you are used to looking at a Farcus inspired decor almost anything new is going to look superb.
Rare Tapi Posted May 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2010 WOW! They did an AWESOME job! I want to sail on her again! I know that Ibero Cruceros is owned by Carnival Corp, but I thought that the "Whale fin" smokestack would be removed. Both the Celebration and the Holiday are keeping it. Seeing that smokestack painted in other than Carnival red, white and blue just doesn't look right....
Oakman Posted May 12, 2010 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2010 They should re-do all the Carnival ships like this. Just Beautiful!!!!

scchasgal Posted May 12, 2010 #6 Share Posted May 12, 2010 She looks really modern without the funky 80's disco coloring. I love the muted colors.
pjtulsa Posted May 12, 2010 #7 Share Posted May 12, 2010 I would LOVE it if Carnival would decorate their ships more like this... It looks more classy and upscale....:)
OhioJeff Posted May 12, 2010 #8 Share Posted May 12, 2010 I think Joe Farcus should study these pics very closely...he might learn something..lol Or Lets let these designers loose on Carnival Brezze
UpstateCruizer Posted May 12, 2010 #9 Share Posted May 12, 2010 That is amazing! I'd love to sail on something like that now.
ocalla Posted May 12, 2010 #10 Share Posted May 12, 2010 I guess I shouldn't have looked at the pics so close to my first cruise. Somehow I don't think the Triumph will even come close!!!
KimtheCruiser Posted May 12, 2010 #11 Share Posted May 12, 2010 WOW! I did recognize the "silver birds" hanging in one of the stairwells.
live.love.cruise Posted May 12, 2010 #12 Share Posted May 12, 2010 She looks better now than before....I'd love to sail her again!
Litewait Posted May 13, 2010 #13 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Carnival needs to hire this decorator to redo all their ships!! Hands down prettier than anything Carnival has in it's fleet!!
Bunkie103 Posted May 13, 2010 #14 Share Posted May 13, 2010 The muted colors and lack of prints is very relaxing. It no longer looks like a "disco" ship.
spencercoop Posted May 13, 2010 #15 Share Posted May 13, 2010 It looks AMAZING!! The only thing I don't really care for is the reflective ceiling in some of the areas.
zonacruiser25 Posted May 13, 2010 #16 Share Posted May 13, 2010 The new Holiday looks great! I'll bet they even updated the plumbing to make the Rivera deck smell better! I too hope they start decorating more ships of Carnival in this manner!
tiger belle Posted May 13, 2010 #17 Share Posted May 13, 2010 very sparkly, clean-looking and fresh...but a little too modern, colorless and "cold" to me...It felt like I was taking a tour of the Starship Enterprise I prefer the more fun, colorful and festive decor of the two Carnival cruise ships I've been on--Glory and Triumph but to each his own, of course :)
luvmysox1 Posted May 13, 2010 #18 Share Posted May 13, 2010 She was one of my favorite ships and my very 1st cruise. I am glad they brought her back to a beauty. She had a bad wrap forever. It was the most happening ship I have ever been one.:D
joebat1 Posted May 13, 2010 #19 Share Posted May 13, 2010 I would LOVE it if Carnival would decorate their ships more like this... It looks more classy and upscale....:) Actually they do, with all their ships except those that sail under the Carnival name. Cunard, Princess, Hal, Costa, Ibero Cruceros, & Seaborne all have the beautifulclassic, look.... Carnival is the only sister in the group to have the funky designs that I am aware of. CruisingBull Posted May 13, 2010 #20 Share Posted May 13, 2010 l have been on some of Carnivals older ships Fantasy class and Destiny. I often wondered why Carnival doesnt update the decor and make what is old new again. I have promised myself I will stick with the newer builds from now on. What a great job on remodeling this ship! I wouldnt mind sailing on her.
*Mach* Posted May 13, 2010 #21 Share Posted May 13, 2010 WOW! Removing the Farcus Funnel would require quite a bit of engineering and even more money. The real purpose of the funnel is to keep smoke and ash off the open areas of the aft deck. To accomplish that would require a much taller funnel that is currently on the ship. I was pretty surprised to see the whale tail on the Grand Celebration when she came out of dry dock, too. And yes, the Grand Holiday looks amazing!! My hat is off to Carnival for keeping the older ships in service rather than selling them off for scrap. They are 'Grand' indeed... :)
jessemon Posted May 13, 2010 #22 Share Posted May 13, 2010 The thing I find is I was trying to figure out something last night after looking at this is what some of the public areas reminded my of....I just looked again and I see a real hint of Celebrity Cruise Lines..... Love the way the ship looks. Bring her back to Tampa......I know they can't but, I'd book her in a heart beat....
Frank12 Posted May 13, 2010 #23 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Better looking that any CCL ship I've been on! Steveaaaaa, how's about a poll to see if CCL should hire a new designer!
