Just been informed by the captain that our Phuket stop has been cancelled due to political unrest in Thailand. All shore stops have been brought forward one day (Langkawi tomorrow) with an extra day in Singapore added meaning an overnight stay (2 days total).

Dammit Johnno, that has to be bummer. But on the lighter side, an overnight in Singapore would certainly be the next best thing on my list. Hope your having a great time. Hows the suite? Did you end up going for the aft cabin? :)

I too could easily handle two days in Singapore, still one of the nicest and cleanest Asian cities.

Very sad to hear the unrest has spread so far, but good on Princess for responding so quickly.

When one door closes another one opens.

We were on a cruise once that had to cancel KL because of the smoke from the Indonesian bush fires, so we also had an overnight and extra day in Singapore.

Turned out to be the best stopover ever , as we got the chance to visit the Night Zoo in Singapore, plus the extra day.

At least Princess are being cautious about what is going on in Bangkok.

When we went to Thailand we found Phuket to be very touristy, and that there was better places in Thailand that we visited for our month long honeymoon there. The beaches are nice though.

You will really enjoy Singapore, maybe do an extended day trip from Singapore, at least you have the luxury of getting back late in the evening.

We are on the 21 June cruise and will not be disappointed if we get an extra day in Singapore! :cool:

Smart move Princess...and in the nick of time. Who would be disappointed with an extra day in Singapore?

I hope the unrest settles soon for the sake of the country and before more lives are lost.
