karena1 Posted June 9, 2010 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Well, being a total beach person, I have to say I love the beaches in all the islands, but Barbados does have gorgeous powdery white sand. have been to The Boatyard a number of times. going to try Acura next year. Antigua is my favorite island and we love going to Dickenson Bay St Maarten - without a doubt - ORIENT. Gorgeous, great people watching, wonderful sandy beach and pretty water St Lucia - we like Reduit Beach over at Rodney Bay St Croix, been a while, but when we go back next year, we will head to Buccaneer's resort, nice place and snorkeling also. BopRN Posted June 9, 2010 #9 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Definitely Orient Beach in St Maarten...also love Friar's Bay there....it is a quiet beach and lovely. Loved The Boatyard in Barbados. We found the local residents at Dickenson Beach and Reduit Beach very intimidating...wouldn't go back probably. Never have felt that way at the other beaches. houlacruiser Posted June 9, 2010 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Barbados. We went to Carlisle Bay which is right next to the Boatyard and we had the absolute best day there. Short taxi ride from the pier!

Bobal Posted June 9, 2010 #13 Share Posted June 9, 2010 The beach in the pictures is Orient Beach - St Maarten. We really liked Orient Beach for the wonderful sand and colour of the sea, but it's very commercialised and crowded. We loved Maho beach, just for the novelty of watching the planes come in. We HATED the Boatyard, Barbados - tacky and not a reflection of some of the fabulous beaches on offer in Barbados (some mentioned above) St Lucia has volcanic sand in the main, although Reduit beach is nice enough and the beach at Jalousie (imported sand) has a stunning backdrop with the Pitons behind. Antigua is famous for it's beaches. We've only visted Dickenson Bay but thought it was fabulous - lovely white sand and gorgeous turquoise sea. flipflopfun Posted June 9, 2010 #18 Share Posted June 9, 2010 Hands down, the BEST beach I have been to in the Caribbean is Trunk bay in St. John's. If you ever stop at St. Thomas, take the ferry over to St. John and get in a cab to Trunk Bay. In my signature, I have a link to pics from my Carnival Liberty cruise. There are pics there of Trunk Bay. it is the SOFTEST sand I have ever touched !!! Warm, clear water. Great for snorkeling, with an underwater trail, and NOT CROWDED !!!!!
