Players Club

Recommended Posts

I will be going on Royal for the first time in October. Do they have a players club card for the casino? Do they have a website about the players card? If they do have the players card how do you go about getting it and learning about the point pay out?

Thank you in advance!

Blessed safe 4th of July to all.:)

They do have a "player's club", but you will have to gamble ALOT to get any "freebies"....it's definitely not like a land-based casino, where smaller wagers will add up and get you comps.

If you're planning on spending copious amounts of money, you can tell one of the casino managers to "rate" your play....they'll take it from there!

DH and I don't bet a lot, but we have enough credits to get coupons for free bottles of wine or free speciality restaurants. Our friends who have been at this awhile get great discounts on cruises.

Actually, it's not the amount you spend or win, it's the amount of transactions that is counted.

It keeps track of your points. An average of 300 pts a day...2100 for a 7 day cruise...puts you in good standing.

They send you a club card (ClubRoyale). When you go to your next cruise with it, find the casino host. They will give you a sticker to put on your card. Kinda like a soda sticker but this one gets you free drinks in the casino.

I just got a letter from them offering me $350. off my next cruise or $350 slot play. Timing was good. We had just booked another last minute cruise & didn't have time to apply it to the payment so I am going for the slot credit.

Do not believe posts that quote "$5." min. per bet.

I play 25 cent machines & usually kick them up to 50 cents. I also use max coins.

Like a regular casino, it takes longer to get points on a poker machine.

I am not sure how they rate table play.

Do they give you a players card or like Carnival your room key to insert in the machines to track your play. I have never sailed on RCL but we are thinking of trying one out of NJ in December. My DH and myself enjoy playin in the casino and wondered how they can keep track of our play?

Thank-you

Polly

I'm a little confused, how do you get the Royale Casino card? My husband always spends too much in the casino but it is mostly slots. So how can he get it? Anything that he can get from RCCL after all the spending he does in their casinos would be great!!

....you are a high roller ! We are not but we played every day.

We always put our room card in the machine because we have played in regular casinos & know how every point counts. We were not sure what to expect onboard but since we play in the casino anyway I figured we had nothing to lose.

On the last night of the cruise we were surprised when a bottle of wine was delivered to our dining table, courtesy of the casino. That evening when we went to the casino, they asked us if we would like to sign up for their club. We did so & about a month later we received a letter with our future credit amount & our club cards. We wound up using that amount toward a future cruise. You can book through anyone you like!

You just call them with a booking number & they apply the credit like cash so it is not disqualifed if you use other discount offers. This time our cruise is so last minute, we had to pay in full so we are taking it in casino credit.

Introduce yourself to the casino host when you get there & tell them you are interested.

It is great. They let you order any kind of drinks when you get the sticker, even exotic ones.

I note on the "Up-Front Discount" form that it asks for "host name" and since this is an "entry" application with RCI I assume this is a host at a land (or perhaps another cruiseline) casino. Regulars at places like las Vegas that play enough will often have a host although the automated systems at major multi-property networks (Harrahs, MGM, etc...) have risen the bar pretty far for having a host. Whales get executive hosts. So barring having a host relationship already established there is probably no need to sign up for the up-front part and just rely on actual play on first cruise to establish play level in their system for Club Royale membership.

What I am unclear about is if you don't play at high enough level for Club Royale then on RCI ships do you still use your SeaPass card for tracking? Reason for asking is in Las Vegas we always get a couple cards each for my wife and I so in theory we could be playing four machines on same account. Next cruise we are going as a group and none of us play much but my Mom does. Would be nice to give her credit for our play... we might even play more if we can.

I don't get it. Why does he throw away his money?

I just don't get the people who gamble for hours in the casino. Casino gambling can be thought of as a tax on stupidity. If you are dumb enough to go into the casino and bet, you are going to lose a lot more than you win, and you will win just enough to reinforce your staying in the casino. Casinos, with their lights and bells and stuff make it sound like people are always winning money. But that's an illusion. That's how these things are set up, and they exist solely to separate you from your money. This is the reason they are on the ship -- to make the ship a lot of money. If you lose several hundred dollars and get a coupon for a free $50 meal, do you feel like you won something?

I guess I work too hard for my money to consider just throwing it away.

Thanks Shippy:)

I am also one of those that enjoy "paying a tax on stupidity"

Hence the reason I started this thread.

It is not a tax on stupidity, it is entertainment. And depending on what you spend it can be fairly inexpensive compared to other forms. Most people that gamble that I know do it because the adrenaline rush associated with playing is great.

I have friends who go to Disney World every year - gambling is "My Disney". I find it very relaxing and enjoy it immensely - I work hard too and this is my choice of how to spend my extra money (cause I sure ain't leaving it to the kids!)

Why would you come on here and say that? Like your post is going to all of sudden make people not gamble? And none of us who do enjoy gambling work hard for our money. We're just a bunch of lazy bums.

OP, I we just started putting our seapasses in the slot machines and I got two key chains. :) I didn't realize that I could get anything until the second to last day, so we probably could've gotten more.

I don't know if you smoke, but we seemed to win more on the smoking side of the casino for some reason. Have fun!

And that is what makes this a wonderful world. EVRYONE is entitled to an OPINION! Thank you for yours.

Mine is that we work for our money and we want to spend it doing something we consider fun. We do not go in thinking we will get rich and we don't spend more than we can afford to lose!

Do you spend money on specailty resturants while on bord or the spa because I consider that a waste of money but I certainly would not call you stupid for enjoying something that we do not.

wow.....I have never been called "stupid" for gambling! I guess there is room for everyone! But I would never call anyone else stupid for doing something that they enjoy. We lose TONS of money but it is what we enjoy.....others may enjoy swimming with the dophins.....to each his own!

...I had to hold back.

But I have been reading these boards long enough to realize there will always be a preacher who feels the need to publically chastise those that sin by breaking the rules like smuggling booze, irons, etc. on board. They even take the time to copy the rules as part of their sermon.

Then there are the 'judgemental' ones who call people ignorant, stupid, etc. Their vocabulary is limited.

I supposs that is what make these boards more interesting to read. You cannot let your feeling get hurt. It will never change.

ps

Good luck to those of you that gamble.

May your jackpots be many !

Considering how many State Lotteries there are in this country with large jackpots, there must be a lot of people paying that TAX ON STUPIDITY. I must be one of those STUPID people you are refering too.

But at least I'm not rude, and call people names because they don't like what I like to do with my money.

With your outlook, that may be why you have to work so hard.

You might ask the casino manager how they rate play.

My DH has cards for most of the ships we sail and he gets drinks while in the casino.

I don't know how much he plays...(I don't want to know how much he plays) but he never buys a drink while gambling.

The casino manager will be able to explain at what level of play you will get drinks..or trinkets...
