Silk Lounge

It's another lounge/bar and is really beautiful. Only Nieuw Amsterdam and Eurodam have one and it quickly became a favorite of ours during our Eurodam cruises.

It's a beautiful evening to have pre-dinner drinks in Silk Den and then go to Tamarind for dinner.

:confused:Can anyone tell me what the "Silk Lounge" is aboard the Eurodam. Is it part of "The Retreat" and does one pay extra to use it?

It is as follows:

Tamarind Restaurant and Silk Den Lounge: A Pan-Asian restaurant and lounge with panoramic views of the ocean and Lido Pool area. The Tamarind is reservations only! There is a $15.00 per person charge for lunch. It also offers a special Indonesian Rijsttafel dinner, $20.00 per person.

Photos can be seen here, a little more than half way down the page: http://joanjett2000.topcities.com/HAL/Eurodam/index-2.html

It is located mid ship on Deck 11 the Observation Deck. Deck Plan for Deck 11 http://joanjett2000.topcities.com/HAL/Eurodam/deck-11.jpg

Its the bar area/lounge area across from The Tamarind Retsuarant. I found it to be a delightful READING and people-watching place in the mornings! At night there are lots of people having cocktails and talking -in the morning there was mostly OTHER readers using the NICE seating areas.......:)

Thank you everyone for your replies. It does indeed sound like our kind of place, both for the morning (reading) and before and after dinner drinkies. We are booked for a Canada/New England cruise in October of 2011 - hoping they add on the Eastern Caribbean as they did for 2010.:)

If I recall correctly, I believe that it does overlook the Retreat cabanas.
It faces the Retreat, across the Lido pool. Here's a pic taken from the Retreat side. The wide window section under the three domes is the Silk Den.
