Vista Suite vs. Owners Suite--Opinions

Personally we think the OS has it all over the VS, which we know some people will tell you they prefer. The OS is bigger and had much better views and larger windows and balcony and a direct view of the sea without the 30 feet of ship in front of your view.

For us most important is that the ride in the back is soooo much smoother than in the front of the ship. When in any type of rough weather we appreciate not bobbing up and down and sideways. You also so not have to deal with the crew and the noises in front of the VS cabin. We've had both suites and hate to add competition for the OS however whatever your final choice you'll love the space and the service.:)

appreciate it. As it is, it is a South American cruise and we were waitlisted for the VS. It just cleared and we are still waitlisted (they say we are first) for the OS. I was wondering the difference as this would be our first Oceania cruise. I will remain on the waitlist for the OS now that you have responded. I believe there is a chance that it will clear--probably closer to final payment date.

We have ONLY ever been in an OS and can add to the comments of Orchestrapal. However I would add that on Deck 6 (where we will be again in August) you can, when the ship is at full throttle, or whatever the naval term is, it can cause a vibration from the thrusters or whatever those things are called.

Saying that I would not change it for the world.

Have to agree with orchestrapal, having occupied a deck 6 & deck 7 OS, as well as a deck 7 VS. We prefer the deck 6 OS since the veranda is somewhat bigger...never experienced any vibration while cruising.

We did book a deck 9 VS for the SF to MIA run aboard the Marina...didn't see where the music area would be any use to us. And didn't care for the Oceania suite layout. Also have a deck 6 OS for the 08/26/2011 sailing to Alaska. out of SF....life is good.

Enjoy the suite on which you final settle.

We've had a 7th deck (7119) OS on both the Regatta and Nautica and loved the experience. We will have the same OS on the Regatta SF to AK to SF cruise in 8/2011. The OS decks have wonderful 180 + views and less wind than a VS would have.

Me too. We had 8067 (an OS) on the non-Libya cruise in November 2005 and 7004 (a VS) on the Iceland cruise in June 2006.

We much preferred the OS. The real difference in the room size (we thought) was in the veranda which is more spacious on the OS. But it was also much quieter. We were bothered by anchor noises early in the morning on the VS. Not enough to ruin the trip (!) -- but it did wake us up. It was easy enough to turn over and go back to sleep, however.

But both are VERY nice! The advantage to the VS is you are forward and if looking straight ahead is important to you, you have a better view as you sail. But I didn't mind seeing where we'd BEEN in the OS ...
