138east Posted July 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted July 19, 2010 It may be new, but it's pricey. Rates about $450, which would be over $500/night with tax. Maybe it will show up on Priceline or Hotwire.
madelinerose Posted July 19, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Just another option. ;)
138east Posted July 19, 2010 #4 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Yes - another option - but for $500/night I personally would not choose any hotel at 44th & 8th.
madelinerose Posted July 19, 2010 Author #5 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Yes, Carol, but there just may be just one CC member or one person looking for a Manhattan hotel room who may, in particular someone who is an IC Hotel Group Priority Club member. ;) IMO, any new info about any new facilities on the East Coast should be welcomed on this board. There are lots of lurkers on CC and not everyone is interested in hotels mentioned repeatedly here. ;)
madelinerose Posted July 19, 2010 Author #6 Share Posted July 19, 2010 Oh, and this InterContinental will be part of the Princess Cruise Plus Hotel Package from $249! ;) http://www.princess.com/learn/destinations/canada/extend/stay/newyork.html

There are lots of lurkers on CC and not everyone is interested in hotels mentioned repeatedly here. ;) It's always nice to have options. While I doubt we could afford a stay here we have loved the IC in Boston - they have a lovely hotel there.
138east Posted July 20, 2010 #9 Share Posted July 20, 2010 It is nice to have options. If they are a new hotel, they may show up on Priceline or Hotwire for a while. And folks who have points may be able to get this hotel. Sorry if you took my comments the wrong way. IMO $500/night is a pricey option any way you look at it. BEAV Posted July 20, 2010 #10 Share Posted July 20, 2010 The Intercontinental's "Friends and Family" rates are available publically. See this thread for more info: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hotel-deals/943529-ihg-hotels-friends-family-promotion.html We booked an upcoming pre-cruise stay at this hotel for $269 per night under the Friends/Family rate. Keep in mind, however, full pre-payment is required, the rates are non-refundable, and you don't earn points or stay credits if you're a member of their frequent stay program. 138east Posted July 20, 2010 #12 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Yes - and I think that's plus tax. However, I think it does include both airport and cruiseport transfers.

madelinerose Posted July 20, 2010 Author #16 Share Posted July 20, 2010 Just so there's no confusion, the Princess rate from $249 is per person, not per room. Correct. I should have added "per person" after $249 as some may not click on the link.
