Need Vista Suite Info!!!

On a waitlist for a Vista Suite on the Island; bringing a 19 year old son; is there any privacy? Can hubby and I close the curtain completely between the sofa and the bedroom area? Thanks for any help... ;)

I have been on Vista Suites on other ships (Grand class) and yes, there is a curtain between the bedroom and living area (where the couch/sleeper is). I assume it is the same on the Island Princess.

Here are some pics of our Golden Vista Suite. You can see the curtain but it really is not that private. It did close all the way:

He's 19...old enough to be out and about on the ship without supervision.

 

I say utilize the "do not disturb" sign placed in your cabin. ;)

The curtain on the Grand's Vista Suites closes all the way, so I would assume that your ship's would as well. It's a thick, heavy curtain, but believe me, it does not provide much privacy at all.

I told son last night that the 3 of us may be in a suite together--and would he prefer that we book 2 regular (non-suite) cabins side-by-side instead.

IMHO..booking two cabins is going to be expensive as you'll pay a much higher rate for a "single" than if you had two people in a cabin. Now...if he's got a friend that would like go along..that's a whole different thing. Also..there are some wonderful perks that go with having a suite..like free internet access!
