Do I get OBC after 4th or 5th completed cruise?

Hello,

I recently just booked my 5th NCL Cruise on the Sky for April, 2011.

We have already completed cruises on Crown, Dawn, Spirit and Gem.

Do we get placed into the next tier for our cruise on the Sky and recieve OBC or does this happen on our 6th NCL cruise?

Has there been a change to the tier system recently?

Thanks for any help.

You have to actually complete your 5th cruise before you are moved from Bronze to Silver.

You'll be "promoted" to silver after your 5th cruise has been completed. Under the new OBC program instituted in January, a short time after you return from the cruise. you'll be offered an OBC for a future cruise as a reward for moving up in status.

I've finished my 5th in April and have yet to be offered any OBC.

Thank you!

Is there a certain system in place as to how much OBC is offered?>

For example is it more if you book a higher catagory of cabin?

Or less if you a 4 or 5 night cruise rather than a 7 night or longer cruise.

I don't know the details (I was already Platinum when the OBC was introduced so I don't get anything), and NCL doesn't seem to specify anything on their Web site:

I just completed my first NCL cruise and received an email stating that I'm now the Bronze member and will receive the OBC on my next cruise. The value is what jvsnana posted.

My question is how to request the OBC on my next cruise in Sep. this year. I booked it a few days before the first one set sail but quoted my Latitude number in the reservation. Will I receive the OBC automatically or I need to request?

The OBC I posted was for Silver Latitudes. I'm not sure what they are offering for Bronze.

I would think you could call your PCC at NCL or if you used a TA call them, and request the Bronze Tier OBC.

It may be for new bookings only AFTER you complete your first cruise.

Call and let us know what they say:)

The OBC for Bronze is the same as for Silver. After calling the TA and NCL, I got the OBC applied to my next cruise. :D I guest next time I'll get this OBC is after I become Silver.

I need to call the Latitudes desk and find out if we'll get Silver benefits during our cruise. We have b2b2b cruises, two different bookings. We will complete our 5th NCL cruise under the first booking number and will then stay aboard ship and immediately start our 6th/7th NCL cruises under the next booking number. We will officially be silver at that time but I don't know if the benefits and maybe the obc will kick in. So I need to phone and find out.

I'm new to NCL and had no idea about the Latitude membership until I received an email from NCL stating that I am now a Bronze member and will receive the OBC on my next cruise depending on the length of the cruise and the cabin category. It wasn't clear to me how the OBC will be applied to my next cruise - seems to be too good to be true after my first NCL cruise, so I didn't pay any attention until I read this thread. Since the cruiselines always encourage us to provide the membership number when making the reservation, I'd assume the OBC will be added to my reservation automatically. The truth - no OBC added to my reservation.

I made a phone call to NCL and was advised that it has to be done by my booking TA. So, I called my TA and he sorted it out with NCL. I was happy that I got the OBC from NCL (didn't expect it at all). Because I booked the second cruise with the Latitude number before the first one set sail, I don't know if that's the reason OBC was not applied in the first place when I made the reservation.

Anyhow, call and enquire, either your TA or NCL. They can sort it out easily. If OBC was not automatically applied to your reservation (disappointing), at least you have a chance to ask for it. Good luck!

I'll post what I find out. I'm not sure when I'll get around to calling. I've got some other calls to make first -- like pre-flight motel reservations, Dr appts etc. I'll call Latitudes within the next two weeks though.

I can now speak from experience on our recent b2b2b cruises.

First, the b2b cruises have to be two different bookings in order to get credit for 2 cruises. If it is just one booking you can't get onboard change from Bronze to Silver. I'm not sure if you can get it from Latitudes phone call either since tiers are based on number of cruises booked/taken.

Second, on the first day of the 2nd cruise go to the onboard cruise consultant who should also be a Latitudes consultant. Let her know of the

change in your status IF the cruises are 2 different bookings. She'll do magic in her computer, your status will be changed, and you'll be invited to the wine and cheese VIP Latitudes party, in addition to the usual Latitudes welcome cocktail reception. Also, you can then go to the front desk and have the wording on your key changed from Bronze to Silver.

This is what we learned and did on our recent b2b2b cruises which were two different bookings.

The OBC didn't kick in since we hadn't completed our 5th cruise when we made the booking for the 6th cruise.

I did my first cruise over the summer and within a week got an email that I was bronze and had OBC which had to be used within six months. What it meant was I had to BOOK something within 6 months. I already had a Christmas cruise booked and at first I thought how lucky that was, that I was already set to use the credit right before it expired! But they wouldn't allow me to use it for that trip because it was already booked--but I had just booked another cruise for October, 2011 and because I had booked that AFTER the credit had issued, they attached it to that cruise, so next October I have $150 OBC.

A question about the wording--I want to know if I can use this OBC for the DSC. Reading the fine print that was posted, it says "Onboard Credit may be spent for ANY onboard purchases." Then it says "Onboard service charges are additional and will be automatically added to guest onboard account." I'm not sure how to interpret this! I have an additional $300 OBC with the same wording. If I can't use it for DSC then of course I'm going to be sure to spend it, but otherwise I might not spend all of that. Anyone have experience with this?

In September I had some OBC. The OBC just appears as a credit on your onboard account. So for the total at the end they take your total spent onboard, including DSC, and subtract the amount you have in OBC.

I just became Silver. I did not receive a letter yet, but when I booked our next cruise I just asked my PCC and she was able to add the $100 Lattitudes OBC.

Thank you for this information!

I completed my 5th cruise in April and believe I got a letter shortly after that but misplaced it as already had a cruise for next October booked so didn't think I would use it. (IMHO these offers should be good for a year, rather than 6 months and I suspect not many get to take advantage of it.)

In the meantime, I have booked the May 1st 9 nighter from NY (great prices btw!), forgot all about moving to Silver status and have emailed my PCC to check if she will apply it.

Thanks again.
