Stevie44875 Posted August 17, 2010 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Has anyone every used their transfer service from Port of Miami to Fort Lauderdale airport? Its $29 pp and doesn't sound like a bad idea. But i'm not sure how it works. Do they make you take the bus at a certain time? The guy from Royal didn't really explain how it worked. Just that i shouldn't schedule a flight before noon.
Langley Cruisers Posted August 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Cruise line transfers are always more expensive. You can do it for less by using an independant shuttle bus service, if you want to. Many people recommend SAS and here is a link to their website - shows the rate as $15.00 each person: http://ridesas.com/html/rates.html
cb at sea Posted August 17, 2010 #3 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Yes--in most cases a taxi (but not in this case!) or finding your own transport is much cheaper and faster than the transfers, which sit around, waiting for a bus to fill. Google SAS transportation.

39august Posted August 17, 2010 #5 Share Posted August 17, 2010 In this case RCI transfers will be cheaper for 2 than a taxi which is around $75-80. There will be enough buses to accomodate all who sign up for RCI's transport. But you do have to wait until the bus you are on fills up. As far as time, there are various debarkation times, so there will be various bus departure times. I believe that SAS has to originate in Ft. Lauderdale, but do give them a try. They are very realiable. If you need transportation from FLL to Miami as well as from Miami to FLL, SAS is definitely the way to go.
wrp96 Posted August 18, 2010 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2010 They will have different bus times based on debarkation times and airlines. If you get lucky, you will be the last one to board the bus and will get to leave immediately for FLL. If you aren't lucky, then you will wait for others to fill the bus before it leaves for FLL. Mary loves to travel Posted August 18, 2010 #7 Share Posted August 18, 2010 It may not matter whether you are the last one on the bus, and the bus leaves right away. We had that experience once -- happy, happy, happy. until we got to the airport, and had to wait an hour for the luggage bus to arrive... Cheers, Mary
