How do you find out the schedule for shows, special events, etc?

I see people talking about events (scavenger hunts, 70s night, etc...) that happen on the ships and booking the shows. Is there anyway to view these before you sail or do you have to wait until you are on the ship to see the schedule.

We are sailing on the Liberty in October (our first cruise) and would like to set up reservations for spa, specialty restaurants etc, but wouldn't want to book when there is something going on.

Thanks for any help

There are 3 things you can do:

1. Search on the threads for "Cruise Compass" and your itinerary. The Cruise Compass is your daily guide to events on the cruise, and many people will post theirs online for exactly the reason you have.

2. If you can't find it, you can create a new thread and ask if anyone has Cruise Compasses or recollections of what was happening when.

3. Post on the roll calls with similar itineraries as yours and ask them to find out (or tell you if the cruise has happened already) what you need to know.

Good luck!

PS- I have always wanted to go to PEI ever since reading 'Anne of Green Gables' as a child!

There's really no need to book everything before you step foot on the ship! The Daily Compass will tell you all of the next day's activities....

Unless you must eat in one of the specialty restaurants at a specific time on a specific day, they have openings almost all the time.

You can find out some of the information by checking out posts on these boards from previous weeks' passengers, but you need to keep in mind that the times for scheduled entertainment and special activities can change from cruise to cruise, so not many things are set in cement. Your first day's cruise compass frequently lists featured activities for the entire week and, of course, each day's Compass will provide all the particulars. You can reserve some shows, depending on the ship, online in advance, but it is usually not absolutely necessary and you should still be able to see or participate in anything by waiting until you board the ship. One bit of advice: don't overschedule things or try to see and do everything or else you will find that you will need a vacation to recover from your vacation. Try to relax, go with the flow, and enjoy being away from the day to day craziness of your life back home. If you don't get to fit everything into your schedule that is only more reason to book your next cruise.:)

The cruise director schedules those things and can change at any time. No reason to book all the things you want before you board anyway.
