Embarrassed to Ask...But

We are going to Hawaii for the first time and are renting cars on all of the islands. My DW says that her brother SWEARS that people in Hawaii drive on the left hand side of the road. If so, this is news to me. Is this true?

(Regardless of the answer, I am embarrassed to ask this question, but DW listens to her brother-sometimes)

No, it is not true.

Hawaii is part of the United States.... they drive on the same side of the road as we do.

Hawaii also has interstates! (now that is kind of a misnomer because you can't drive from Hawaii to any other state or even other parts of Hawaii...but oh well..)

The three interstates in Hawaii are all on the island of Oahu and are named H1, H2, and H3. (supposedly they named them as interstates to get federal highway dollars.).

Gas is much more expensive in Hawaii.. $3.70 a gallon in July, 2010. Of course a gallon of milk is even more expensive than a gallon of gas in Hawaii.

I see you've already got your answer, but hey, if you don't know the answer there's no shame in asking. Enjoy your cruise.:)

Only if someone gets confused because they are drunk or had too much pakalolo. Perhaps that's why your BIL was confused??

Or maybe he was just doing the typical brother thing.
