I purchased the Premier Album Package on Princess, which included 100 pages and free shipping. I did exceed it by 47 pages, which cost me an extra $47. The quality of the album that they shipped me was superior. I highly recommend the package for anyone interested in scrapbooking, their cruise.

Thank you, you will love the Diamond, she is a beautiful ship. I have heard that when she goes into dry dock, she will have MUTS installed, flat screen T.V.s and some general cleaning. I don't believe they are adding a International Cafe, unfortunately. We didn't do the White Pass this cruise in Skagway. We had done the White Pass when we went in 2007 and it was a all day adventure but it was fantastic. This time in Skagway, we did the Panning for Gold and the Takshaunk Mtn 4x4, which was great and I would highly recommend. You will be so happy you are doing the PWS, as you will come within 100 yards of the glaciers and see a lot of calving. Unfortunately, the ship while in Glacier and Hubbard Bay don't get as close but it is understandable, as those Glacier are much larger. You will love Harv & Marv, we have dome the tour twice and will always do it when we cruise to Alaska.

Have a great time

Thank you for sharing! Now I REALLY want July 2011 to get here fast!

I know, it seems like it takes forever, doesn't it? We have a Hawaii cruise booked but until March 2012:), that's even further away:(. You will love going in July, it is a perfect month for weather and wildlife.

What about the entertainment on board? What PWS tour did you go on 4 or 6 hr? again, glad you had a good time :)

We did the 6 hour PWS and I wish it would of been longer. The first time we cruised to Alaska was in 2007, Northbound and it was just my DH & I. This time we went Southbound and took our 3 kids, so I was really happy we did the PWS. The kids enjoyed Glacier & Hubbard Bay but they enjoyed the PWS more because of how close you got to the Glaciers.

The entertainment on board was so-so to be honest. The Princess Theater was pretty small and doesn't have the 2 levels like I have been used to on previous cruises. The shows repeated for 2 nights, which was nice for those who could not find a seat for the first night. There was a hypnotist and a comedian in the Explorer Lounge, and they were pretty good. I wouldn't say the Princess has the best entertainment but to be honest, Alaska is such a port intense cruise, that most of the passengers are exhausted and go to bed pretty early. The ship was pretty quiet from about 11:00 p.m. on. It was really nice though sitting on our balcony at 10:00 p.m. and it still being light out. The kids got a little bored as they played in the casino for a while and then would go to the Skywalker Lounge, but they said it was always dead. I find that Princess is a majority of middle age or older, which I personally prefer.

Glad you enjoyed the album. If you have any more questions, ask away and I will try to answer.

thank you so much for answering all my questions, i guess i'm a little worried about the six hr. pws tour being that long, i feel like if i do the four i'll miss out (don't want my husband to be bored) so you highly recommend the six hrs, w/ the scenery do you really get much more scenery than the four hr? I keep worrying about diamond princess, I usually go on royal caribbean on their larger ship, what other princess ships have you been on? Everyone seems to like the coral or island best, can't figure out why? have a good weekend :) Oh, how far up did you go on the whitepass yrs. ago and want to do the six hr. but seems so long?

I wouldn't be worried about the PWS, 6 hr being too long, the scenery is spectacular, and the wildlife, too.

Our first Alaska cruise was on the Island and personally, I enjoyed the Island more then the Diamond. The Island is a smaller ship, but has a great personality, less passengers, meaning no crowds. However, we did cruise in September 2007. We choose the Diamond this year because we were taking our young adult children and I thought there was a little more for them to enjoy. However, I like the smaller ships, I am not a Mega ship type person, but the Diamond is not a Mega ship. You will enjoy the Diamond, she is a great ship with a few more options, then the Island.

We did the Yukon Expedition & White Pass Scenic Railway through Princess. I believe the cost was $245 pp. We took the train from Skagway up to Fraser, the Canadian Border and then took a very comfortable shuttle bus, the rest of the trip up to Carcross. If you take this tour, beg and plead with your driver to take you to Emerald Lake, a few miles past Carcross. It was the favorite part of the tour, the most beautiful Lake, I have ever seen. We had a great BBQ lunch at Carcross, toured the Wildlife Museum and then went and played with the sled dog puppies. We spent about 1 1/2 in Carcross and then got back on the Shuttle Bus and took it back to Skagway. The bus driver stopped several times for photo opportunities. If you are a very active person, I will warn you that there is a lot of sitting, between the train and the bus. I have a bad back so it worked very well for me. We choose not to take the kids on this tour, as they are active and wanted to do a more physical type excursion. If I remember correctly, this tour was about 8 hrs, so it will take up most your time in Skagway. I do strongly suggest that you at least take the train up to Fraser, the scenery is spectacular.

Oh, prepare yourself to be spoiled. I would cruise to Alaska every year if I could afford it. You will have a very difficult time, finding another cruise to compare to Alaska. In July, you should about perfect weather, as you can, in Alaska. I don't know which itinerary your are doing but try to spend a couple of days in Anchorage and Vancouver, if that is your itinerary. You will see the most amazing scenery and wildlife. If you have any questions, please ask away.

Beautiful pictures of a beautiful famile. You all look like you had the time of your lives. May I ask what PWS stands for? I am doing my first Alaska Cruise next year and I too am looking at Harv and Marv as well as the Anan Bear Conservatory. The pictures seal the deal for me.....

Beautiful album, thank you for sharing. I always make a book for each big family vacation that we take. I love that you could do this through Princess. How much was the Premier Album Package?

Very nice, thanks for sharing!

Question, I noticed that you had a few photo's taken high above Capilano Bridge, where were they taken from?

Also, I didn't realize that one could change the pages in the Panraven book. I'm pretty much done with mine but if I want to change a few pages as to highlight them, will that mess up the pictures on the page since each background style is different?

Thanks! :)

PWS is Prince William Sound. I highly recommend Harv & Marv but make your reservations early, they book up fast. We were very happy with Carlin Air, on our Anan Creek Bear Observatory. You MUST also book way in advance, as Anan only allows so many permits per season. It is a little pricey but worth every penny and more.

Let me know if you have any questions.

You can easily move the pages around by clicking on the page and dragging it to where you want it in the album.

O.K. you caught me, the pictures of Capilano Bridge way up high, above was a picture I found on Capilano website . Just copy it using Jpeg to your desktop and then download from your desktop to your album in Panraven. There are about 6 total pictures in the album that I downloaded from the internet.
