Just about any taxi in town will take you over to the port (Piraeus), it is about a 20-30 minute ride.

Agree, you can catch a cab right at your hotel.

A cab from central Athens to Piraeus shouldn't run more than 25-30 euros. I think you'd still be ahead over taking the Princess transfer (and a whole lot less hassle).

 

This is what I'm planning to do in exactly 9 days. :D
