Rare Woobstr112G Posted September 10, 2010 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2010 I recently purchased a Rebel X2I (550D) off of Ebay (I know it doesn't have a US warranty, but the deal was too good to pass up). I did this to upgrade from my 30D; wanted the 7D but couldn't afford it:(. I would really like to learn my new camera inside and out so I am looking for a good after market how to book. Can someone please suggest a good one. When I bought my 30D, I never really mastered all the things I could do with it and I want my new camera experience to be different. Thanks in advance for your replies.....:):):) Bob

Rare bobmacliberty Posted September 18, 2010 #8 Share Posted September 18, 2010 Not specific to Canon, but I would recommend a couple of books that seemed to be almost universally recommended by photography web sites: Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby (actually, a series of 3 books) Neither will give you the details of what each of the various settings are in your camera's menu. Both though provide a lot of detailed examples based on Canon and Nikon equipment, and definitely helped me figure out how to better take advantage of the power in my camera (Canon 7D).
