Princess ships sold out because Princess HEAVILY discount the cabins 2 to 3 weeks before sailing.

Check My Princess to see what the deals can be had on the 10 days Emerald Oct 9, 19 and 29. We booked our Oct 9 sailing Saturday night when we accidentally stumbled on the sale. Had no plan to cruise this Fall - already did one 7 day Caribbean on Crown in Feb and another 16 days Transatlantic on Eurodam in April this year, we were thinking the next cruise would be April Transatlantic again... Then this sale is too goo to pass so we purchased it. Less than 3 weeks to sail! It may drop again but at less than $60 per person on an obstructed view, this is low enough for us.

Like I said it depends when and where it goes. Point proven by yours and mine. Mine never dropped since June and went up instead, yours had a discount. If any flying is involved that also generally wipes out any savings.

It also depends on how much time you want to spend looking on the internet for a GR8 price. We once booked 18 days out...saw a fantastic deal and booked it immediately. I always looked late at night or early in the morning.

Of course, you have to be ready to leave quickly, get packed, etc.

And, you have to be of the mind to take whatever cabin is available.

Good luck!! :)

If you're talking about November not including Thankgiving week, then those are generally some of the least expensive cruises of the year (in additiona, December not including Christmas) depending on itinerary. This is far more true of the Caribbean and Mexico than more exotic cruisees. If you're looking at the Caribbean or Mexico, I would book about month after final payment, so about 45 days prior to sailing. So, soon. After that, the price may drop, but you may have to book a GTY and will have fewer cabin category options and no control over where they put you on the ship. Unless, of course, you truly don't care. But most of the ships are fairly sold out by a month prior to sailing.

And, if you are particularly fond of Early Traditional dining, my guess is you won't get it, even at this point in time. It fills first, then Late Traditional. Anytime Dining is available...anytime!
