Rasa Sayang Posted September 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) No decision needed here - a day trip to Borobudur. Over 1,000 years old - the largest Buddhist monument in the world In the mist among the volcanoes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borobudur Most cruise ships run tours Edited September 21, 2010 by Rasa Sayang

Davidc5412 Posted March 10, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 10, 2017 We did a p&o cruise there in 2015 . Took ships tour to Borobudur definitely worth the trip. Quite a long drive and we had a police escort all day . Would not have made it through the traffic without them. Not a place for an independent tour

The traffic was horrendous.
By The Bay Posted April 15, 2017 #9 Share Posted April 15, 2017 We did a p&o cruise there in 2015 . Took ships tour to Borobudur definitely worth the trip. Quite a long drive and we had a police escort all day . Would not have made it through the traffic without them. Not a place for an independent tour I could not agree more. Having been on the same ships tour, I cannot imagine a private tour to Borobudur being a stress free day. Rare LincolnLegend Posted April 25, 2017 #10 Share Posted April 25, 2017 Another vote for the ship's tour to Borobudur temple. It was an amazing day, not the least being the bus ride there and back with a police escort, spending a good deal of time on the wrong side of the road! I think that was one of three tours in a row that required the ship to wait for us and made us very glad we had booked through the ship!
