Emerald, Dolphin or Caribe Mini Suite on the Ruby...pros and cons?

First, I don't know anything about minis on Caribe deck. I don't think there are any minis on Caribe. The minis on Dolphin deck all have uncovered balconies and are exposed not only to the sun but the decks above; the few minis on Emerald deck all have private, covered balconies and are towards the aft of the ship. Because the balcony is covered, it's not quite as bright as those on Dolphin deck. The cabins themselves are essentially exactly the same with the only differences being whether the sofa can accommodate a 3rd passenger or there's a pull-down bed for a 4th person.

We loved our Emerald mini for our Hawaii cruise, and chose it because it had the covering.

I suppose the Dolphin ones would be OK, but they are totally exposed, with nowhere to escape sun or possible sprinkles.

The next best choice after an Emerald mini would be a Caribe balcony cabin, because of the large half-covered balcony.
