David, thank you for the update. The Volendam is at lovely Kona, techincally Kialua-Kona.

I always like to stop there.

As you reported yesterday, the Zaandam is in Vancouver today. If she leaves from here to Hawaii, this should count as the Foreign Port and she will not have to stop in Mexico on her return or will she?

luvtwotrvl's DW here.

I just checked the spreadsheet from HAL, and the Rotterdam is not listed for today. I usually catch this when I prepare the file, but... I guess I didn't this time.

The Rotterdam is "At Sea" and tomorrow's listing shows it crossing the International Date Line. Ships "disappear" for a day when they get near there.

Personally, I've never crossed the dateline headed east or west, so I'm a little unclear about how it changes the "days" for the traveler. Going west, you 'lose' a day, right?

Rotterdam is headed from Honolulu, Oahu (Hawaii) to Tabuaeran (Fanning Island) with arrival on Monday, October 4.

I crossed the date line once in 1989. I was in the air. I left Chicago early Thursday morning and arrived in Asia on Friday evening and coming home I left Asia on Saturday afternoon and arrived home on Saturday evening. When I landed back in Chicago it was mid Sunday morning in Asia. So I lost Friday on the way over and repeated Saturday on the way back.
