We did a snorkelling tour in St Thomas thru the cruise ship ( it was RCCL not sure if CCL does the same one or not) we did see sea turtles...it was really exciting .. you are just swimming along then up from out of nowhere comes this thing..all you see is 2 little nostrils then the head and they stay up for a few seconds and down they go again...what an experience of a life time..

Has anyone seen turtles on any snorkeling tours? If so where at and through which tours. I really would love to see some while snorkeling!

Seen turtles in the Caymans, Barbados, Cozumel, Nassau, and Maui, Kauai and Bora Bora. Prob a few more places that I can't recall just now, have fun - wherever you decide to go.

We did a ship snorkeling excursion in St. Thomas. They took us to a reef, then went to another spot where turtles grazed on sea grass. There were around 30 of them. They would surface right next to you, take a little breath, and go back down.

When docking in Grand Turk, the ship stirred a few up and the water was so clear you could see them moving out of the way as the ship docked.

very cool.

There is a place called EcoTours listed on the Cruise Critic Puerto Vallarta Tours board that has a turtle excursion. The one listed for now is an evening tour so I'm not sure what that is all about?? Maybe the hours will be different next year. Anyway, the link they have is.. http://www.ecotoursvallarta.com/index.php

FYI ! I do NOT know about this company so I cannot recommend them or not ~ Cruise Critic has them on the ports board so maybe they are good??

Have seen them a few places in the Carrib, the best was in St. Thomas, on a catamaran snorkle to Great St. James island. It was awesome because there were only a few people in the water and the island was uninhabited, and there were turtles everywhere. Not baited, not mobbed by people. You chould swim up to them and touch them and they'd swim all around you. Great time.

We have seen turtles just on their own in Aruba and Curacao just over in the rocks at one end of the beach usually away from the crowds. Also we have seen a bunch in Barbados at Paynes Bay. They were about 150 yards off shore over a shipwreck with lots of other fish and a few Stingrays. It was an awesome tour.

We went on this small boat that had seating and then also a couple of places where you could look through a glass bottom. We found it from the shore right there on the beach at Paynes bay, Barbados.

Great pictures......were you in the boat????? or snorkeling?????

We've seen sea turtles snorkeling in Barbadoes..........

We went out on the boat to the site and then went snorkeliing. There was a few people that stayed on the boat... our tour driver included  mostly the glass bottom part was for while you were moving or not ready to get in yet.
