WannaCruise365 Posted January 3, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 3, 2011 I would say yes on MUTS since Ruby does have MUTS; sometimes in the cabin~We haved cruised in January for the last several years and have not missed a game! Its a lot of fun and excitement ..Have fun!:p
Toto2Kansas Posted January 3, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Normally, if they can get the satellite feed on the games, they will show them on MUTS. I know a couple of years ago, we sailed on January 2 and I swear they had a game on MUTS every single night.

I'm on your cruise and my Packers just squeaked into the playoffs today and will be playing the Eagles during sailaway :( I wonder where the games will be shown. I don't care if I have to stay cooped up in my cabin to see the game on TV but I sure would prefer a lounge/bar or MUTS (FUTS :D ) I guess I'm going to have to miss part of the game for the muster drill. Grrrrr. The following weekend we'll have a sea day on Saturday and I would be perfectly happy curling up on a lounge chair watching football all afternoon. I wonder if lounge chairs will be hard to come by for the ball games  I'm traveling by myself which will give me a slight advantage 'cause I won't need to be hunting for several chairs all together. I just decided I must pack my Rodgers jersey for sailaway. Go Pack Go!

Astro Flyer Posted January 3, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2011 When I recently cruised on the Golden which included Thanksgiving Day, they had many NFL games on TV & some on MUTS but only one college game on the weekend. Based on this experience & a Super Bowl at sea, it's whatever ESPN International is broadcasting. On my recent cruise that was games on Fox, CBS & NBC being shown on ESPN International. The SNF & MNF games were also shown on MUTS as was the Super Bowl in '09. So I'm sure it will be the same for the NFL playoffs & the BCS Championship game. :D
BigGuy25 Posted January 3, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2011 We were on the Sapphire the weekend before Christmas. Games were shown in several of the lounges.
Carol_Hill Posted January 3, 2011 #9 Share Posted January 3, 2011 On the weekend of December 19 on the Crown, they showed two games during the day on Sunday on the MUTS, as well as the Sunday night and Monday night games. The same games that were on the MUTS were in the cabin also, but I have no idea whether there was anyplace else inside the ship showing the games or not. I would think for the playoffs they might have a lounge that they would show the games, but I don't know.

laemerald Posted January 3, 2011 #12 Share Posted January 3, 2011 we also sailed on the Ruby last year at this time, our CD LISA BALL decided that she would show the NFL games one day and then decided that it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the passengers to show the next days game so even though all the waiters and the PATTERS said the game would be on She showed a Lovely film of the waves going by, I spoke with personally about this can you imagine the whole deck waiting for the game on muts and now its a video of WAVES I now know she did not have anything else to play so this is what was on the big screen. Needless to say about one hundred people crowde a little room downstairs by the casino called the conference room. The poor waiters started to come in and serve us drinks in there. Like I said I actually found her and explained the situation to HER and she said in fairness to the other people it was her call and too bad for us. Meanwhile the deck with muts ,the lovely video of the waves, was completely cleared and she did nothing. We again sailing jan 9 and will hope she has come to her senses but I doubt it. By the way I am not a football fan dh is and so are most people during this time, so no bashing about needing football while cruising just my experience

bikker59 Posted January 3, 2011 Author #15 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Thanks for all the responses...keeping my fingers crossed! Karen..I am cruising with my Mom, who is not a football fan, so I will be by myself too as far as football watch goes..maybe since we are both part of the meet and greet, we can meet during sailway to watch the games..and I will be rooting for the Packers.. I am a Redskins fan, therefore I DO NOT LIKE THE EAGLES... We have been on two cruises during the Superbowl...both on RCC, but they showed the superbowl in the Ice Show Arena, with football food, etc. It is weird because it is a direct feed..so you dont see any of the commercials..which is a lot of the fun of the Superbowl... Even though the pititful Skins couldn't beat the Giants, they still didn't get in the playoffs! :) Enjoy your cruise!!

My hubby is going to redo our rec room while I am on this cruise... You are so right about how tough it is to be a Skins fan.. I am ever eternally hopeful...and at least we have 3 Super Bowl trophies...unlike other teams which have 0.. but this off season should be interesting here...so much drama!!! Hockey teams don't often shake hands after a game unless it's the clinching game of a playoff series. I can't remember the last time I saw teams shake other than in that scenario. You are right..except with this being the Winter Classic..kind of a special game..the broadcasters made a comment about that...which I thought was interesting, but true.... I won't be drinking if I'm watching the game alone in my cabin. Seems my first cruise with Princess will be with their worst cruise director.
