MSC vs Celebrity?

Thanks to everyone that complained about smoking on MSC. That makes them a non-starter. We live in LA. You can't smoke in our home and we discourage smoking outside!

We love Celebrity and will stay with them!

Just an fyi...you took a 5 year old thread and assumed it was still correct.

I don't know if it is the same or not, BUT will soon find out.

We are Elite Plus on Celebrity and are trying MSC for first time in September.

When we sailed on the MSC Divina we did not have a problem with smoking at all. We are a non- smoking family and never smelled smoke during our entire cruise. Smoking is prohibited in all public areas and cabins (including the balconies). The only place smoking is permitted is the Cigar Lounge and an area outside somewhere, but we never saw it. The Divina doesn't even allow smoking in the casino! The info from this thread is very old.

I'm glad to hear that.

I started reading this thread and was getting worried...Until I saw the date :)

We will go on our first MSC cruise in september.

We loved the smoking policy of X and I was dreading the smell of cigarettes :D

We're on Splendida departing in zeebrugge...unfortunately it seems there are no more yc cabins available anymore...so we resorted to a balcony cabin

we are also on Splendida, leaving Southampton September 14th for 1 week...We got a good deal on a balcony (I think its the lowest category of balcony...we are on the "cheap" plan that doesn't even give us free room service...called Bella??maybe??)

We embark the next day in zeebrugge. We also got a great deal, on a b2 balcony, which is the middle one.

We wanted a yc1, but none are currently available for departure from zeebrugge (and for 3 persons)

Well maybe we will see you on the ship! zeebrugge is about the only port we haven't yet figured out what we are going to do.

We booked one of the "sideways" balcony cabins...It looks like it has a large wall to the one side (forward view gone), but wide open view out and backwards.

Looking forward to our first MSC cruise!

There's a lot you can do in zeebrugge. You can go to Bruges. If you want to do some shopping you can take the tram to Knokke...and lots more
