Menu Request

Does anyone know a good source to find menu's for the 7 day carribean cruises.(We're specifically on the Ruby) but I understand they are fleet wide. The ones that I have come accross from some are very difficult to read.

Wouldn't it be nice if Princess could post them on their website? It would really help especially when planning alternative dining.

Here are some photos of menus from our 10 day Caribbean on the Ruby: http://sailing.smugmug.com/Ruby-Princess-Christmas/MenusFood/10801142_eKtHo#753520409_CivkH

The menus should match up, for the most part, except for special cases like the Christmas menu. Some menus you will always see on a 7 day Caribbean: Sailaway, Captain's Welcome (formal), Italian, Chef's, Caribbean, Captain's Gala (formal), and Landfall dinners.

WOW Infi ... thank you so much for posting your pictures and copies of the menus. The pictures were superb (my mouth is watering), and so helpful. We are about to embark on our first Princess cruise and I must say, your post was a pleasure ...

Okay, now my mouth is watering, and I have 5 weeks to go! So out of curiosity, can you order a couple of appetizers? The chilled soups sound delicious, but so do some other appetizers. I can see myself being in a dither on what to order! :D

Infi, Shame on you! We won't be on our next Princess cruise for another 144 days, 14 hours and 37 minutes and you have my mouth watering already!

Wow Infi......now that is how you document food on a cruise ship!!

You will have to excuse my ignorance, but, is the international cafe a specialty restaurant/buffet at an additional cost.....or is that the regular buffet on this ship?

We are planning a 14 day panama canal on the Coral and I would kill for menus and pictures from that ship.

Thanks

The International Cafe is on deck 5 of most of the Grand Class ships. The Coral and her sister the Island are a different class and do not have the IC. It is not the buffet but is a different location to get breakfast pastries or a hot breakfast sandwich or lunch sandwiches, salads and a cup of soup and of course the wonderful hot cookies during the day. The only item that has a cost is three scoops of gelato for $1.50 (not on the Golden of the Star). Princess menus are fairly standard across all ships. I believe that there are 14 standard menus. You definitely will have the meals that Infi showed plus more. Also, the Coral has the Bayou Cafe and Steakhouse rather than the Crown Grill. Very different venue but IMHO a good alternative. I have eaten at both.

I asked about this. Princess doesn't post the menus in general because although they are generally standard, they can vary based on product availability on any given cruise, they basically don't want people saying "well your website says you should have served X on Y day!"

Before our past few Princess cruises, we have received emails with this link to sample dining room menus (and the menus for the specialty restaurants). The menus we have had on our cruises have varied slightly from these. And sometimes there have been items listed on the menu that do not show up in the dish, such as a particular fresh herb.

Connie,

The food on the Coral was delicious...some of the best we have ever had on a cruise and the main dining room (and our waiter) was so good, we didn't bother to try any of the specialty restaurants. There is a small cafe on the lower level of the Coral (not like the International Cafe) but you can get some pastries there in the morning. You can click on the Coral link on our signature and check out some videos of our trip... there is one there that highlights the Princess with a bit of a clip of the dining room. Best cruise we have been on....enjoy!!
