You Have One Night on the Gem - Where Would You Eat and Why?

Since we only have one night on the Gem next month, I'd like to get the best dining experience out of our trip. Don't mind paying the up-charge. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts. It will be just my husband and I and we prefer a table for two.

I think Le Bistro would be a good choice. The food is good, and it is nice place for a dinner for two. $20 each. Whatever you choose, make sure you make your reservations as soon as you board as they will fill up fast on the one nighter. Have fun!

We've enjoyed the hibachi style dinner (Tappenyaki) on the Gem and also the steakhouse was fabulous. Note that Tappenyaki has only a few seatings so if that's your choice, reserve as soon as you board. While we've also eaten at the Asian place, I'd go back to the first two before the Asian place.

We usually view the menus outside the various restaurants upon boarding, then make a reservation at whichever is most appealing.

ENJOY. One nighters are fun.

My vote would be for Cagney's. It's because we love:

the steak

the colossal shrimp

the crabcakes

the fries

Well, you kinda get the idea.. ha ha. It really comes down to what you crave, and we crave the red meat. If not Cagney's, we'd go to Le Bistro. You can't go wrong with either of them. The atmosphere is almost the same. Ambience is number one with us too!

Thanks for the suggestions. We'll try and board as early as possible and make reservations immediately.

Leaning towards Le Bistro, but the husband likes crabcakes, hmmmm. I can never get him to do a hibachi Japanese type place. :(

I've never tried this, but could you ask if you could have the Cagney's crabcakes when you're in Le Bistro?

Our must-do restaurant is Teppanyaki - we don't have any similar restaurants close to home. The flavors are delicious...DH and I split the chicken, shrimp and scallops.

2nd favorite is Le Bistro. I'm not a big meat eater but I loved their coq au vin. The fondue dessert is delicious!

I was disappointed in Cagneys. The fries had an off taste and we couldn't eat more than a few. Steak was just OK according to DH. I had better salmon in the main dining room. However, the brownie and ice cream were divine!

On for one night only? Well follow the above advice, and go to any of those recommended....LeBistro, Cagney's, Teppenyaki...or wherever.

But late at night, after the show, after the disco, after the casino, or whatever.....don't miss the Blue Lagoon for some decaf and a slice of delicious New York style cheesecake with blueberry compote and whipped cream. Yum, Yum!!!;):)

I'll skip the decaf but the cheesecake sounds delish! Thanks for the tip. :)
