Express Departure = carrying off yourself ALL your bags. You sign up for it on board. In our opinion, you don't need it. The airport is very close to the pier. Suggest you do as we posted above.

Have a great cruise!

Not shore about luggage valet. It seems to change with the tides. Couldn't use it on our Allure maiden voyage. It seems to come and go. RCCL blames the airlines. Who knows?

Just don't count on it. When you get on board, ask about it. And even then, ask again later in the week.

We had a 10:45 flight in December and had no problem and didn't even do the express carry-off. We got off the ship about 8:40 (groups were being called about 40 minutes late) and still had plenty of time.

However, this was with everything else going very smoothly; no delay getting to port, no delay in the ship being cleared by customs, no delays getting our bags and through customs, (picking up our bags and going through customs was amazingly fast this time) no giant crowd waiting for taxis or in the airport, plus we get to use the first-class lines, etc.

You will probably be just fine as long as nothing unforseen happens.

Disembarked around 8:20 and even after waiting around 50 mins for immigration/customer, we arrived at MIA about 10:20am. No problem for FLL which is about 10-15 mins drive from the terminal.

We were around Group 8 tags pax (we had an earlier tag but were in no rush).

Jewel crew are fairly good at exchanging your disembarkation group tag for an earlier one. Just bring your airticket to the guest relations from about Day 4/5 to register your ealier flight (they announce this in the Compass) so that you get put in the earlier group. No need to use their luggage valet.
