PartyAllDaTyme Posted January 21, 2011 #27 Share Posted January 21, 2011 The changes are out. C&A's Platinum and the new Emerald level will still be recognized as Select, Diamond, Diamond+ and presumably Pinnacle will still be recognized as Elite, with criusers already at those statuses grandfathered in if they don't otherwise qualify under the new system, based on sailing days. The only lessening of crossover would seem to be due to a new rule (if I'm reading their FAQ correctly) that you must at least already be Classic in CC to get equivalent status. Thus, if a C&A member, even a Pinnacle, has never cruised with Celebrity, they will not get their equivalent status for their first X cruise. Orator Posted January 21, 2011 #28 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Appears they will be counting days not number of cruises.

CRUISENAV8R Posted January 21, 2011 Author #30 Share Posted January 21, 2011 Seriously, from my cruises it seems the Elite Lounges are mobbed on the new itineraries or popular cruises like TA's. We did an South America/Antarctic cruise last year and there were 40 Elites in the lounge if that many. I just got off a South America 14 day. There were 81 Elites on the ship and around 400 CC total. CC Hostess said the current sailing is about the same. She did say that TA's generally have a lot of Elites because that is a tough sell to new cruisers. I think the massive crowd of Elites on the new ships in Caribbean goes without saying, we all want to try them.
