bodyshoplady Posted February 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2011 So,can you repeat Princess cruisers tell me what goes on during Sea Days on-board ship? My one and only past cruise (NCL-2008) was a 4 day Bahamas cruise with a new port each day. I am VERY MUCH looking forward to the 3 sea days I will have aboard the Caribbean Princess during my Caribbean cruise May 1st - May 8th. I have booked a couple of massages already on 2 different sea days for my sister and myself and I might want to book some more hard to get available activity (like The Sanctuary) but if I do, how will I know what I am missing? So I would appreciate anyone shedding light on this dilemma. Thanks!;)

IECalCruiser Posted February 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2011 In addition to the activities there will often be eating opportunities such as a themed lunch buffet or the Pub Lunch on Sea Days and there is Afternoon Tea everyday. Wine Tastings are also usually on Sea Days.

jean s Posted February 4, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 4, 2011 Sea days are my idea of perfect relaxation. We start the day with walking laps on the promenade deck, enjoying a leisurely breakfast in the dining room, participating in a trivia game and finally reading a good book on a lounge chair enjoying the sun. Rare philv Posted February 4, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 4, 2011 Don't forget the fitness center with steam rooms and sauna, laps around the promenade deck, sitting on the horizon terrace on the rear of the boat watching the wake stream away with a drink in hand, and of course people watching in the Piazza while you enjoy a coffee and snack from the international cafe. So much to do, so little time.... :)

LOL, that's us, too! And we also have our binoculars at hand. We had the most fun last month watching one brown booby scooping up the flying fish that the ship was scaring into the air. People weren't the only ones taking advantage of a cruise ship buffet:D

Our last cruise had a port every day as well, and the cruise prior to that was almost 1.5 years ago at this point, so nice to see a refresher of what to do on sea days :D

cruiseryyc Posted February 5, 2011 #18 Share Posted February 5, 2011 Well I find a nice recliner on the Promenade Deck; far away from the noisy pool area; and watch the ocean go by. Then I wake up and watch the ocean some more.

bodyshoplady Posted February 5, 2011 Author #21 Share Posted February 5, 2011 All you posters are fantastic!! What a fun read! Thank you..I really enjoyed these posts and actually learned a few things (after I stopped laughing):D How about this, I booked our massages late afternoon, thinking we would be ready for a relaxing treatment around 3/4 o'clock and then we could shower and get ready for dinner. I'm afraid if I book something like The Sanctuary in the afternoon, we might miss a fun, pool game or something else fun. Do these "fun" game activities go on all day or they more likely to be scheduled in the afternoon (or morning)? Are these games repeated from one sea day to the next? For instance, if I reserve time somewhere on day 1 -sea day, I could catch the a game I missed on the 2nd sea day? You catching my drift that I don't want to miss anything fun PLUS I want all the relaxing too?!!:p (All my problems should be this difficult, lol:D)

Lectures will often be at the same time each day. Activities such as ice carving demonstration, martini demo, and some pool games will only occur once per curise. Cruisin' Chick Posted February 5, 2011 #23 Share Posted February 5, 2011 We had ten sea days on our last cruise, and I enjoyed each one. A port intensive cruise would drive me crazy now.

You will be relaxed, refreshed and ready for dinner and all of the evenings activities :) Unfortunately, the games, demonstrations, lectures and the such are not repeated. However, despair not. You need an excuse to book your next cruise while on board  Remember that you can't do it all. The Patter is your best friend :D Read it carefully before you go to sleep and plan the activities that you really want to do the next day. regnig Posted February 5, 2011 #25 Share Posted February 5, 2011 You catching my drift that I don't want to miss anything fun PLUS I want all the relaxing too?!!:p (All my problems should be this difficult, lol:D) Accept up front you are just not going to be able to do it all. If you try it won't turn into a relaxing cruise for you. Even with missing some thngs you will not be bored and yes, it will only give you a good excuse to take another cruise. Look over the Patter each evening before going to bed (yes you have to schedule some sleep time too ;) ) and pick and chose what sounds the best. And, believe it or not, one of the most "FUN" things to do is just sit and "people watch". Free entertainment at it's best! With what you've said IMHO I'd skip The Sanctuary part. I'm not too sure you'll have time or get your money's worth. If you want to just sit in a lounge chair and relax you'll be able to do so without having to pay extra. And, while perhaps not pool side, they won't be any further from a pool than the Sanctuary will be.
