paul929207 Posted February 18, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2011 I think it is safe to say that on every cruise there are some who win, but the big winner is the ship.

cb at sea Posted February 18, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2011 Losing your money is the most probable outcome....the casino ALWAYS has the edge!!! Consider the funds you're willing to gamble to be entertainment dollars only!!!!
lovintocruize Posted February 18, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 18, 2011 Best way to make money at a casino, any casino is to bet on the winning outcome. I have read that they are not very forthcoming with winnings on the ocean.
Rare sparks1093 Posted February 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 18, 2011 From what I've read because the ships are largely unregulated the slots have a lower payout percentage than landbased casinos. I've heard that some lines adopt Blackjack rules that favor the house more, but I don't know enough about the game to really understand those threads. I would think that craps, roulette and poker would have roughly the same odds as a land based casino. I would stay away from Bingo on most ship's. The payouts are small and it's usually expensive. griffy116 Posted February 18, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2011 I "donate" a set amount of money. I've never come home with winnings from the casino. One of my daughters ALWAYS comes out ahead..and she plays the slots, my heaven's sake.
johneeo Posted February 22, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 22, 2011 How about the hit ratio?:D As Steve Wynn advises, the only way to win in the casino is to own the casino.
Rare silentbob007 Posted February 22, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 22, 2011 There's no competition, so no reason to have loose slots ... people are either going to play or not. Table games generally have the same odds as on land, but you have to watch out for special games ... I've seen about 5 versions of 21 onboard, each with different rules, payouts, and odds (and none that "improved" the odds, for sure).
Underwatr Posted February 22, 2011 #12 Share Posted February 22, 2011 Craps is as fair at sea as on land, although I noticed that the table had the "Big 6" and "Big 8" in the corners which is a sucker bet (and illegal in NJ, although it's universal in Vegas). It's a sucker bet because placing the 6 or 8 pays better.
luschen Posted February 22, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 22, 2011 It's very easy to win - unfortunately, it's even easier to lose!
