Which Barcelona HO HO bus ?

We are going to echo another post about HoHo's in Barcelona. They are great for folks who have mobility problems, but if you have no walking issues we think the HoHo is a waste of money (and a lot of time) in this city. Why? Because most of the areas popular with tourists are within only a few neighborhoods. For example, the area around the Ramblas and the adjacent Gothic Quarter are all within a few blocks and are best explored on foot (waiting 15-30 min for a HoHo bus to take you a few blocks makes little sense). If you want to explore a different part of Barcelona (such as around Sagrada Familia) you can either take the long walk (we love those long walks since its the best way to really see a city) or you can just jump on the fast and inexpensive Metro (no waiting time and its fast). HoHo's make a lot of sense in some cities, but in Barcelona using your feet and the metro is the way to go for most folks.

http://www.marinaviewbcn.com/ A few small apartments in a building on Passaig de Colum. approx 2 blocks from the Columbus Statue (at the bottom of Las Ramblas). Is it a luxe hotel? no. Is it super clean, friendly, easy to get everything and includes internet and breakfast -- you bet.

Every night we headed out into the old part of town, and wandered around the cafes shops; location was excellent. Then on cruise day, walked two blocks to the port bus and hopped on. All of our transport around Barcelona was trains/subway/buses; very easy.

Thanks, Scottbee, appreciate your response. we'll check it out.

I really have been listening to all of the good advice posted here.

Our two days in Barcelona have evolved into a great tour with our travel agent on the first day. It includes a brief city tour. After that overview, we will know better how to enjoy our evening and second day there - which may or may not include a HOHO bus.

Thanks again for your insights.
