We'll be staying in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I am looking for a good kid friendly waterfront restaurant, something unique.

Either Aruba in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea or Le Tub in Hollywood Beach.http://www.arubabeachcafe.com/aruba.htmLove both!http://www.theletub.com/Both waterfront, Aruba literally on the beach and Le Tub on the Intracoastal Waterway.

I wouldn't really consider either of those kid friendly, especially Le Tub and their giant $11 hamburgers.

At the bottom of Le Tub's menu...

No Children after 8:00PM.

No Children's Menu

No Hi-Chairs

Is Dave and Buster's kid friendly or is that just an adult playland?

Dave & Busters is very kid-friendly but isn't waterfront.

I can't think of anything in the downtown area that is waterfront and kid-friendly. Only 2-3 miles from downtown are Bubba Gumps and Oasis outdoors at the beach. Bubba Gumps is unique/quirky if you haven't been to one, and Oasis has swing tables.

Anything on the Boardwalk around the Westin Diplomat?

We always see a lot of kids there in the afternoon.

There are lots of places along the Hollywood Broadwalk (5 minutes from the Westin Diplomat) that are kid-friendly. What you will find are some pizza places (some with walk-up window service), Greek/Mediterranean food, ice cream shops (there are a couple of walk-up windows where the ice cream is $1.50/cone), etc.. Most places there are rather inexpensive. There are also playgrounds and bike rentals, and with the beach right there, there is plenty to do.

Across the street from the Hollywood Broadwalk along the Intracoastal is Giorgio's Bakery.

There are a few restaurants in Downtown Fort Lauderdale along the riverfront and water taxi route, but I would not say they were particularly kid-friendly.

Coconuts, towards Fort Lauderdale Beach, along the Intracoastal has outdoor waterside dining. Good place to be around sunset.
