singwithjoy Posted March 4, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 4, 2011 Going on the Crown March 19 Do they have alarm clocks in the interior cabins or do I need to bring my own? Do they still furnish pool towels to use on beach shore excursions?
socaljo Posted March 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 4, 2011 No alarm clocks ... and yes, you can use your beach towel for excursions. Have fun on your cruise!
SoCoCruiser Posted March 4, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 4, 2011 I was just on the Crown. there are no alarm clocks. You can set a wake-up call on the phone in the cabin. yes, you can take the beach towel that is provided on your shore excursion.
Putterdude Posted March 4, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2011 The alarm clock such as it is, is part of the phone which you can't see while laying in bed...we bring our own. The pool towels double as beach towels and are replaced daily when you leave them on the deck of your bathroom.
SlyOldLady Posted March 4, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 4, 2011 the alarm clocks are built in to the phone system. Simply push "wake up service" and follow the promps

mytime53 Posted March 4, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 4, 2011 Just a suggestion regarding pool/excursion towels: Ask your steward to replace them when they have been removed from the shelf. I only suggest that because when you return from an excursion, they have bins to place your used towels in when you return from shore. However, if you do that and want to later use one at the pool, you are without a towel. One would think that sometime during a 14 day cruise, we would have remembered to request that of our steward! But we didn't, and a couple of times found ourselves without towels when we would have used them. And of course, those were the days that the towels were so wet after our excursion that we dumped them at the gangway.:(
caribill Posted March 4, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 4, 2011 Thanks I will bring my own alarm clock Make it battery operated, not electric as the cycles vary with the ship's electricty and the clock would not keep accurate time. And with your own, be sure to keep up with the onboard time zone changes.

And just another tip... Put new batteries in it before you leave for the cruise. Guess who forgot to ,and then had one stop?
Grizabellachinchilla Posted March 5, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 5, 2011 Thanks I will bring my own alarm clock Keeping up with the time zone changes would be tricky. If you are anything like me you would forget. I have enough trouble remembering to keep my camera up to date. We used the wake up service. Easy to set and most reliable.
