My kids and I agree to avoid the elevator and take the stairs everywhere. The only exception to this is formal night with dresses and high heels.

We always eat too much and that reduces the guilt just a little bit. :)

HI! DH and I without fail, sing "I'm So excited" on the way to the airport. Its fine when just us two, but the year we went with friends they did NOT find it amusing. They wont be coming with us again! AND we ALWAYS "OOH and AAH" at the atrium. Cant wait for Equinox Ooctober 2011 BRING IT ON!

I'm a busy mom, there's so many rituals we do. I always make signs for each of the family member's cabins (i.e. "Zoey and Reagan's Grandma and Grandpa"); I always buy ID bracelets for the kids so if they get lost either on the ship or in port, they can easily be found. The first thing I do on the ship is get a Mai Tai. I think all of the photos I have of the life vest drills I have been on, I have a Mai Tai in hand.

My DH and I always hunt for certain items in ports. Just different little "souveiners" we acquire lol! I can then use that stuff along with pics for a scrapbook. It makes it almost like a scavenger hunt. Currency, charms, passport stamps, etc...it is lots of fun for us!

I Must pass by the buffet breakfast lunch and dinner.....see what's going on and if I want a "sample" . Even if I have allready eatin in the DR. Bad habit...sometimes after dinner just to see if there is anything better for dessert...:o

OMG, I thought I was the only one!

Have an over-priced drink in hand as we sail away from the port.

Have coffee delivered every morning as my wake up call.

Buy a Christmas ornament so that I have something to remember from EVERY cruise when it's cold and we start to put up the tree. It might be from the ship or from a special port. S-T-R-E-T-C-H-I-N-G memories.

gawd lets see our whole cruise routine...embarktion day we drive to ft lauderdale, listen 2 jimmy buffett on the way and arrive at the pier at 11 am. board as soon as they let us, head straight up 2 the lido buffet b4 its jampaked at eat...then we tour the ship from the very top 2 the very bottom, go to our cabin when its ready, unpack and then go to the lifeboat drill.... :|....then go to the sail-away party on the deck and have frooty drinks and mex food. after that we go to get ready for dinner....

a typical port day is almost the same. get up, sit out by the pool and have breakfast at the buffet., then get off at port early and explore or tak and excrusion, always coming back 4 lunch at the buffet and swim in the afternoon. EVERY day before dinner go to one of the bars for a drink which we then bring to dinner, then go to the show afterward. mom goes to bed........ :) .............my sis and i go to the teen club.

other things we do every cruise are the choc midnite buffet and royal dutch and indonesian tea.

Jimmy Buffet is a must before cruising

DOD is a must!

When leaving out of Baltimore we head straight to The Viking Crown Lounge after muster (I know we're not the only ones because the good seats fill up FAST!). The ship has to pass under the key bridge, which sits so low and is the reason bigger ships can't port in Baltimore, it truly gives the illusion that the ship WILL NOT make it under. Even though you know every single ship before has made it under without incident... it still gets your adrenaline pumping and the oohing & ahhing of everyone else (especially newbies & kids that are SURE it's not going to fit) is fun to hear.

We also carry a highlighter for the cruise compass to make note of the things we really don't want to miss.

Several things we always do. Get a Ship specific Golf Shirt, 2 shot glasses from the ship, register for the cooking class (I'm not a Chef but I have played one on TV), Breakfast on out Verandah at least two times, and gamble in the casino. I usually come out ahead playing Blackjack!
