Aussiemate Posted March 22, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2011 Is there any violation of any known act by going Vancouver to Whittier then turning around, doing a back to back, returning to Vancouver?
DWP Posted March 22, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2011 No problem at all. We did that cruise last year, found it very enjoyable.

Aussiemate Posted March 22, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted March 22, 2011 I have r/confirmed with Princess that is OK and doesn't violate the "Jone's Act".
Texas Tillie Posted March 22, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 22, 2011 I have r/confirmed with Princess that is OK and doesn't violate the "Jone's Act". That's why they use Vancouver in Canada for the one ways. They couldn't do a one way between Seattle and Alaska - all within the US. Also, that's why the Seattle round trips have to do a brief stop in Canada (usually Victoria).
Rare Cruise Junky Posted March 22, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2011 You always have to look at your embarkation and debarkation points, forget all those in the middle. If there's a Canadian Port at the start or finish, you're usually ok. Two different US Ports, you have to start worrying ;)
Putterdude Posted March 22, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 22, 2011 One cruise begins in Vancouver and ends in Alaska and the next begins in Alaska and end in Vancouver, so no violation. If for some reason southbound you got off your ship in, say Juneau and flew home....that would be a violation of the PVSA.
