Just got off the Grandeur yesterday.

DAN WHITNEY was the CD and by far the BEST we have had in 5 sailings!

He will be there till August (taking Simeon's place)

I would love to know where he goes from there. He should be on a larger ship.

This thread brings back a lot of good memories for me. We first ran into Bill Brunkhorst when he was not yet a CD, but a member of the cruise staff. It was on Sun Viking in 1987. I still have a picture of him doing the "If I Were Not Upon the Sea" sketch. Since then we have sailed with him several times, but as CD. Dennis Sciortino was CD on Viking Serenade back in 1990 right after Royal Caribbean acquired the ship and sent her to Alaska. Gordon Whatman was a singer with the cruise staff on the same cruise and was our CD on Spendour in 1998. John Blair was on the Viking Serenade in 1991. That was after they had added a Viking Crown Lounge to the ship. Since we live in northern CA it was easy to take a 3 day Baja cruise to see how it looked.

BCCI Cruiser - I have asked the same question a few times on this thread and can't seem to get a firm answer. I am asking due to my fos cruise in October.

 

I wondered the same thing about my mid-Sept FOS cruise, so I emailed C&A. Will let you know what I find out. I really hope it's Richard Spacey, but will be happy with anyone since SO MANY are fabulous!

Sorry for my absence.. I have been working 80hr weeks (as is the norm for me in the summer June-October). Anyway,

 

To answer a question: When I talked to Bobby Brown he didn't have an exact date - as this was a few months ago - of when He was going to go on a short break then off to the repositioning of the Legend, but if he is off the Jewel now, he will more than likely not be returning (looking at the update posted today). It sounded like he would be going on a break and again then to the Legend to Asia for several months.

 

I fully agree that Dan Whitney is a great Cruise Director, definately one of my favorites. (Being Ken Rush, Carley, Clo, Bobby, and Dan) In no particular order. :-) I sailed with him twice on the Rhapsody, and he BY FAR has the best quest that I have seen!!!! From what I heard, he left the rhapsody due to back problems and is just returning in the past few months.

We had Warren last summer on the Empress to Bermuda. He wasn't showy, but we enjoyed him. He was easy to talk to around the ship!

hi i am trying to keep the cruise director list updated it a little hard but i love doing it i like to help other people,know the serenade of the sea it still is carly hopefully she will be leaving soon i will keep a update on that

I got a response back. C&A says the CD on my September 14 FOS cruise will be Richard Spacey. YAY!

My experience is that they will tell you the entertainment but won't release the CD name for security reasons... you can usually find out on the boards here.

Hmm, they specifically told me who my CD would be on my cruise. Perhaps certain CDs don't want their names released???

Well I did email them, and they did email back, and I kinda knew the response I would get, they said it was too early (this is for October) for both entertainment and CD. So I will just email them again closer to the cruise, in September, but it was worth a shot.
