NOLA Hotel with shuttle to port

We are sailing on the Spirit on July 10th. We are flying in the day before and thus looking for a hotel. Can anyone point us in the direction of a hotel with a shuttle to the port?

We will probably spend most of our time pre-cruise in the FQ, so staying near there seems to make the most sense. Or does it make more sense to stay in the Garden District, closer to the terminals and take a cab to the FQ as needed.

How are the cab fares from the FQ to the cruise terminals?

TIA!

From what I have read on this board, hotels that offer a shuttle to the Port are not in the French Quarter, probably closer to the airport or Garden district. You can do a search on this board and will get numerous answers. I think from a French Quarter Hotel (where we are stayng) to the Port is about $10.00.

Hampton Inn Convention Center has free shuttle to/from the pier, maybe from the airport too. I don't know about the latter at all; it was more of a question.

Is there anyone that can confirm this? Does Hampton offer free shuttle to the port or from the airport?

Hampton has a shuttle to the port. Holiday Inn Superdome has a free shuttle to the port. There are shuttles from the airport to hotels downtown, but none are free. Holiday Inn Superdome will also shuttle you to the French Quarter - don't know about back.

Are you sure it's not free? I've read a few things saying that Hampton and Holiday Inn have free shuttle. Is this wrong?

Hampton Inn Garden District has free cruise parking, but no shuttle. A taxi is $7 pp to the terminal. The trolley stops right out front, but it might be easier to take a taxi to the terminal, but I have taken the trolley to the French Quarter before. I am pretty sure you can book it for $99, look at the Hampton Inn New Orleans site and it lists three of them and in the right hand corner it has cruise deals. You have to call the hotel direct. The other two Hampton Inns do not offer free cruise parking, but one is across the street from the terminal. They also cost slightly more. Good luck. The free parking sealed the deal for me. I can stay the night and park for the week for less than paying for parking at the terminal.

Just booked and got $109 rate for June and free parking. The parking is what sealed the deal for us also:D

Just checked this Hampton Inn, in garden district, and it shows no rooms for my Oct 23rd cruise.

We are on the same cruise and looking for a reasonably priced hotel near the french quarter with parking since we will be driving in. It looks like Holiday Inn Superdome is going to be the best. In the past we have stayed at Drury but it has gotten too picey for 10-22.

Yea, I'm told this is the "high" season for them. I couldn't believe it when people were saying that it was around $200 during the month of October. Yikes! I got mine for, I think, it was around $86
