What to do in Civitavecchia? (NOT Rome!)

Is there anything else to do close to the port? We have a Romeinlimo tour that will bring us back about 6:00 and our ship doesn't leave port until 10:00. Thanks!

If it's summer a nice walk along the waterfront (especially if you've spent hours sitting in the car, this might be a nice change of page) followed by drinks and/or dinner at one of the bars or restaurants in town in would be nice.

We booked our Rome Tour through Italy Tours, http://www.ItalyTours.eu, The email communications regarding options, directions, payment, etc. were professional and prompt. On the morning of our tour in Rome we were met at the end of the gangway by our driver Alessandro who was a delight; he provided interesting commentary on our drive about the history of Rome. Once we gathered the rest of our party (5 others in addition to myself and my husband) we set off for Rome. On the way to Rome our driver explained how the day was going to work out; what sites we were scheduled to see. Since we were in a small van we could get very near to the sites; he would drop us off and allow us to explore on our own and then pick us up at the same drop off point. For our tour into Vatican City we met our guide Maria who gave us a very thorough understanding of The Sistine Chapel and The Vatican. It's always a little uneasy booking tours through the internet however; this company did everything they said they would and we would definitely book with them again.

Go to Santa Marinella, one stop south of Civit by train. It's a beautiful seaport with beaches, to spend the day and have lunch. It's not a commercial port like Civit. Walk around and enjoy the day. I'm spending 9 nights there before our cruise

in a Condo/apartment!
