hey all,

I know i have posted on both ncl and carnival boards about my debate between dream and epic, sorry for the reposts, just wanted as much advice as possible.

In the end it looked like my husband and i were outnumbered and we were going to go on the carnival dream:mad:. To be honest, i was less than thrilled about this. I know i am lucky to be able to go on vacation at all, let alone a cruise, but I really dont care for carnival much, eventhough we only sailed them one time, they didnt impress me.

We told everyone one last time about all the great attractions and entertainment on epic, and how i researched on cc and even the people on the carnival board voted for epic, and how important variety was seeing as were going to be at sea for 3 whole days (4 if you count the day you leave port), and we could get bored really easily............ and finally they said yes!!!

this post really didnt have a point, i just wanted you all to know my endless debate is over, as im sure your done hearing about it lol. and we are ridiculously excited for this cruise, instead of dreading it like when i thought we were going on the dream. Hoping for a great trip!, now ill just bombard you with questions about your trip on epic from now till nov. thanks for all your advice!:D

I loved Epic too. Modernos definitely gets my vote. So now come back with your questions when you're doing your research and planning!

Just booked the Epic for Dec. and am very excited! I have some questions regarding extra costs for things. I've read the Ice Bar charges a $20. cover, but considering it includes 2 drinks that's not terrible. I see there is bowling and wondering if there is a charge. What other activities should we expect to incur extra costs?

Also, our son & family may be coming. They have a baby, who will be 21 months old at the time of sailing. Do you or anyone on the boards have an idea if there is a parent/baby play time where little ones can play in the kids area with their parent present. Can't remember which line has this.

DO TRY some of the specialty restaurants They are VERY good .We really enjoyed Modernos ..but GO HUNGRY ..we did not have lunch that day The salad bar is DEEEEElicious but do not get stuffed the meats on skewers are REALLY good It is nicely decorated Cagneys Too was very nice I will definitely go back to both

I was not crazy about the Cucina or Japanese restaurants but my son loved them both but the show in the Jap restaurant was a hoot OurChef was quite the clown

I enjoyed TASTE for lunch and Manhattan for UNPLUGGED

I loved CIRQUE but BlueMan was NOT my cup of tea but again My son thought it was AWESOME ....maybe an age thing DO WEAR earplugs It is VERY LOUD .Too loud for me

The Fat Cats were great so was Second City

I felt EPIC was like a gorgeous Hotel THe Area near pursers was huge It is a really beautiful ship I do not understand people who say it is ugly I do not think so .YES it is MASSIVE but I think very tastefully decorated

I found EPIC fun... after 1 AM the Casino is BOOMING!!!Until them wander in and out of lounges THere are some Great Music venues

The service on EPIC was GREAT .I'm sure you will return pleased I certainly was in spite of my BOOBOO ..I slipped fell and landed on my knee ADvice do wear rubber soled shoes!!!I did limp A LOt but I did try to make the best of it ..DARN IT it still HURTS

Bon Voyage
