Rain days at Sea?

What do some of you do when you have rainy days at sea? We are leaving next week, and the extended forecast shows to be rather wet all week. Just was wondering if they offer different things to do during the rain

Carol & I enjoy playing Scrabble and got a travel scabble game. We go to the 3rd floor deck, it usually stays dry, and set up there. It is right outside the atrium bar, so drinks are very close.

On those rare occasions when it's not fit to be outside (note... the areas surrounding the pool that are covered are generally fine for hangin' out and chatting with friends...) I explore. Every Carnival ship has something unique to offer. With the exception of the Dream, each ship has a theme and it's great fun to follow the theme from bow to stern and see where the different elements fit in.

There's almost always something going on the the main lounge... Marriage Show, Trivia, etc and even if you don't participate there's plenty of laughs to be had.

There's really a lot to do on the ships... sometimes you just have to look...

I have a mean streak in me.... so when it is raining and some people are out in port I start laughing that the cruisers are getting all wet.lol.

I am an indoor person so it doesn't matter to me if it is raining or not.

I attend most of the indoor activities for fun on all the ships.

I also love it that Carnival has some American local t.v. stations to watch in my cabin. I mostly watch CNN and Animal Planet.

When I arrive at home I am already informed on what is going on in the world. Plus, I get to watch some of my favorite reality t.v. shows.

Depends on how hard it's raining. When we sailed on the Inspiration, there was a constant light drizzle with a few moments of heavy rain during one sea day, so we hung out for a while in the covered hot tub and counted all the towels, books, flip flops, and magazines getting soaked on loungers around the pool.

If it's a hard rain, well, there are plenty of activities going on in the various lounges - tea time, trivia, live music, bingo, scavenger hunt, dance lessons, shows, galley tour (if it's still offered?), etc. Then there's in-cabin movies, the library, internet cafe, the gym, the onboard shops, and the casino (a great place to people watch.) I also like to sit in the main atrium, listen to music, people watch, and write down some thoughts and notes for my cruise review.

It has never rained on a sea day, or rained at all on any of my cruises (knock on wood...)

If it did though, I would just play trivia, bingo, walk around the ship indoors, visit the shops, play in the casino, and just lounge around Ocean Plaza listening to music.

If you have beach excusions booked when it is raining on a port day, do you still go and dropped off?

I know it usually doesn't rain full time all day and it can clear as quick as it starts, but still, the four of us sitting under an umbrella on a beach doesnt sound like much fun, but at least we are not at work or school!!

Add cribbage to this post and it would be perfect for us!

Gamble and get drunk, I do these things when its sunny out too though

Yup, it's even better when your in a Tropical Storm and you've found the right amount of tequilla so your in synch with the ship while everyone else is stumbling around like a bunch of drunks. :D

Uno and Yatzee are small and easy to pack so they go with us. If we're sailing with friends and we go out of Galveston (our very own homeport) the Mexican Train Domino game also gets packed and we play it on both rainy and sunny days! The more DOD's we drink the more fun it becomes!:D

On a rainy sea day...I'd just take a good book...find a nice spot where you can sit under shelter and still watch the waves. Buy a couple DODs..and relax. Or people watch...one of my hobbies. Looking out at the waves and the rain makes me glad I'm not at work...where the scenery out the window is dull and never changes...and where the DODs are only a memory!!!:)

I love Mexican train!! Go to my DS & DD and with extended family --way too much fun. And they are tough!!! Drinks with it are great, too.
