Hi,

Does anyone know who the cruise director is on the Century? How is he/she?

His name is Rich Gleeson. He seemed fine to me.

Lois, I think his name is Rich 'Clesen'. We had him on a Baltic Cruise 2 years ago. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience, which resulted in my writing a letter & actually receiving a phone call apology from Mr. Harahan's personal assistant. I've put it behind me now, but I'm still hoping he is not the C.D. on our March 2012 Century South Pacific cruise.

Hi, sorry you had a bad experience.:( I chatted with him a bit as we

were both judges for the "Dancing with The Stripes" event. He was

not as friendly as some CD's I have met but seemed ok to me and it

was the first time I had been on board with him. I know some folks

could care less who the CD is but in the case of having such a bad

experience? That is very unfortunate!

Hopefully next time will be better!:)

Hi everyone,

My wife and I just got off the Century a week ago. Weather wise it was the worst cruise we have ever been on, but after 18 cruises I though Rich was one of the best cruise directors we have ever had. He was outside the showroom after every show talking to all the guests. He was always seen around the ship and was always willing to talk time provided.

My wife and I would not hesitate taking another cruise with Rich as the director.

He was the CD on our Norwegian fjords cruise two years ago. I thought he contributed to that being one of our best cruises ever. Of course it is hard to beat the scenery.:)

As far as 'hard to beat the scenery' - for a close comparison try Alaska.. although since I am a warm weather person I prefer Hawaii & Tahiti myself...:D

Got to agree those Nor. fjords are awesome though...
