Oceania internet ads

Everywhere I go on the internet recently O has ads. So are they spending gobs of money and putting them EVERYWHERE, or are they targeting me?

Some of the places I have seen them are pretty obscure, as in not particularly hot food blogs. Considered going to a porn site to see if they would follow me there!

I'm sure that you are aware that spyware prompts the ads that are suggested to us. Those programs are becoming much more sophisticated and now reflect our web use to a much greater extent. The new search engines are particularly good at identifying our interests.

Speaking of interests, I was told by a friend of a friend that Oceania Ads do occasionally appear when I......er......HE is surfing the wild side. :p

You've got the dreaded evercookie(s)!

Now, when you go to Google "evercookie" (or to learn about the author of the evercookie, Samy Kamkar),

DO NOT click on any link that takes you to samy.pl

Click instead on a website such as symantec.com, wikipedia, pcmag, or others which you know.

Clicking on samy.pl links will deposit an evercookie on your computer if you don't already have it. :(

It's called an evercookie because it is a persistent cookie.

I just made biscuits for Canada Day strawberry shortcake. Come on over!

Funny..I am doing that tomorrow to take to my Mom's. Happy Canada Day to you. We are first Canadians second naturalized Americans. We have flying on our front porch a flag that is 1/2 USA and 1/2 Canadian Maple Leaf. Can't forget the Motherland.

I also found the Ccleaner link led me to a $24.95 version. But the reviews all note this is a free download. So I googled "free Ccleaner" and found a download for the free software. Easily installed and worked like a charm.

The download link is on the same page below the $24.95 fee based support. The software is freeware and doesn't cost anything from either link. What the $24.05 is for is support for the software.

Just scan down a few inches in the same box and there is the link for the download. Just downloaded it from there this morning and it works well. A suggestion is to review all the items with checks in the left hand box of the program and unclick those you don't want deleted. Among other things, if you leave history checked, all of your history will be gone and your browser auto complete won't find anything to complete. Other checked items are your choice. Just be careful and only leave checked what you want deleted. This program does more than just cookies.

Also, when the program starts for the first time, it gives you options about keeping passwords, logons and the like. Be sure you review that and do what is best for you before you click the continue button.

Thanks,

Dave
